Rear axle breather will keep the rear seals happy.
Quick ratio feel rack and pinion has about 2.5 turns lock to lock. Now that's a huge improvement from the farm tractor like factory box!

Needless to say when trying to milk near drifter steering angle with w i d e wheels the frame rails came inboard a bit and required a careful design on the custom stainless headers. Ultimate Headers took on the task of the production units, check out those sick flanges. Awesome!

Re: Speedtech's Pro Touring C10 Project
We decided to run a Spintech muffler that allows for a dual 3" in and 3.5" single outlet. A very unique combination that works great for encouraging high exhaust flow and neat packaging. It'll sound pretty cool too.

Re: Speedtech's Pro Touring C10 Project
Progress is really moving along. That's a good thing, we're scheduled to be at a car show in like 2 weeks. This feels a little like Overhaulin' with only 1/10th the amount of crew members working on it, lol! Stay tuned for more...

Re: Speedtech's Pro Touring C10 Project
Where'd you find the parts for the console? I'd really like to do the usb/dual lighter/110 trifecta in a console. How hard was it to wire in?

Re: Speedtech's Pro Touring C10 Project
Hey All- Things have been busy at the shop the last couple weeks, so I've finally got a break to catch up here.
Our lead tech Jeremy did a majority of the fab and assembly work by himself start to finish. Blake our service manager did the paint and body work and then helped with the last couple days of assembly. The console parts came direct from GM, we have an account at the local Chevy dealership where we get GM parts from. The 110v outlet goes to a power inverter inside the console. We'll be using GM's wiring harness to hook everything up to get the correct connectors and voltage to the USB charger ports. These can be bought new from GM or sourced from a wrecking yard I'd imagine.

Re: Speedtech's Pro Touring C10 Project
We finally got all the little details worked out on the prototype frames and production #1 frame returned from powdercoating awaiting final assembly.
To make plumbing easy this frame has pre-bent brake line kit option. It fits nice and snug and sure makes the install a cake walk. Tabs are all prewelded to the frame and the lines all fit perfectly.

Re: Speedtech's Pro Touring C10 Project
For a clean engine bay we incorporated the battery box under the bed. Holes are tapped in the frame on either side for the battery mount. Had we run a really gnarly sound system we could have run dual batteries- one on either side, but we're trying to keep weight down so we opted for a single battery on the right side for better weight distribution.
Holes are also predrilled for our Rick's custom tank and straps. Install was quick and painless.

Re: Speedtech's Pro Touring C10 Project
In our case we opted for a 525 hp GM crate LS3 and the included custom frame stands give the engine just the right position to work around steering and crossmembers.
On this build we wanted it to be a super comfortable drive to events so we decided to forgo the man pedal and went with a 4L65 auto. Crossmember getting into position and final assembly.

Re: Speedtech's Pro Touring C10 Project
Here's a cool option, the ATS road race LS oil pan allows for a remote oil filter and the frame is pre-drilled for mounting it on either the right or left side. Super easy to incorporate a cooler in there too.
PS and oil lines routed around Unisteer rack and pinion steering.

Re: Speedtech's Pro Touring C10 Project
Thanks again for the compliments!
We chose a Mark Williams driveshaft to get the LS' power to the rear. This thing was almost too pretty to install! 9" bolted in, along with our signature series Baer 6 piston calipers on 14" rotors. The splined sway bar makes tuning for track days easy.
