Thanks! I've already dug into them to find out the factory oil viscosities (lighter than I expected, 20W-20 for down to 0, and 10W-30 or straight 30 only in warm weather!).

I geek out with technical manuals and stuff. Lots of good drawings in the book, and decent descriptions. Some of it isn't as detailed as I expected, I think they took for granted that a mechanic would already know how to do certain things. Keeps it interesting!

I do like the shorter wheelbase. It makes it feasible to drive on a regular basis and park when you go out! I've never seen a dually this short. That is part of what made me want it.
Right on. I also like a nice looking stake bed. As a matter of fact, when I was first building Homer, I bought a wrecked truck with a stake bed on it. Had it next to homer and then changed my mind.
I think whatever you do to your truck will look great. I love the fact that our trucks are just a bit different than the rest.

Doh! Looks like it IS the rear main leaking. I put on the vented oil cap, changed out the gauge connections, ensured the pcv was working as designed, and it still leaks when fully warmed up. It is a much slower leak than the first time, but still a constant drip from the rear main area. I checked and couldn't see any oil coming from anywhere else.

It didn't start leaking until I drove it about 10-15 minutes, and I noticed the oil pressure dropped to about 5psi.

It doesn't leak until warmed up, and stopped dripping when I shut off the engine.
