Re: 70 day crunch
Update....Through the grace of God, great friends and the generosity of a couple of guys at Junk Yard Life.com I was able to get my truck to the wedding. This is worth the read.....
My friend called me Tuesday afternoon at 5 and I told him the news about my truck. Determined to make the wedding he made a few phone calls to some people he knew. The guys at JunkYardLife.com heard what had happened and donated a motor I could use for the occasion. They opened up their shop and sent up an engine, cherry picker and an engine stand which arrived at my house Tuesday night @ 7:30. My friend Keith, his dad Larry, John and my son Cole all showed up and by Tuesday night at 11:45 we fired the engine. Wednesday evening was all about trying to finish assembly of the radiator, belts, driveline....etc. I took off work Thursday to finalize as much as I could to get the truck ready. I was able to drive the truck for the first time in 10 years, 8 months and 23 days Saturday morning in time to load it and take it to the wedding.

Re: 70 day crunch
On a side note, the last thing I told my daughter on Monday morning was that the truck would not make it because of the engine. She was sad and so was I at the time. I did not tell her all that had happened later in the week so I could surprise her on her wedding day. Waiting on the reveal in this pic..

Re: 70 day crunch
Great news on the loaner motor. The guys at JunkYardLife.com decided since I already had the motor in my truck that they'd sell it to me for what they had in it. $250. It's just a stock 305 but after all these years of not getting to drive it, I don't care. I'll replace it later in the year once I rebuild mine.
