Now with the motor. So the carb is bone dry. Fuel isn't getting into the carb. I'm in the process of rebuilding it. The distributor I think was off a little. Will figure that later. I installed a new fuel pump, mechanical, now to see if I can get fuel into this thing after rebuilding it. |

Re: The neighborhood pusher! 1963 c10
I've not been doing much lately. I've been having some health issues.
First My knee got swollen to the point where I could not walk. Then my Ankles. I found some lumps in my neck. Got a CT SCAN and found out it's Thyroid cancer that spread to my lymph nodes. I was to have surgery to remove it tomorrow, but this past friday I found out I have a bad heart and need to get that better before I can have surgery for the cancer. Plus, Funds have dried up since im on disability from work. Soo It's kinda hard to do things right now. It's just gonna take even longer to get it at least drivable.

I did try to get the truck running again yesterday. I did get my gas tank saddles put in before my knee gave me a problem.

Re: The neighborhood pusher! 1963 c10
So I have the parts truck which is a 62. It has the master cyl that is square with two outlets. My truck has one. Is that dependent on the tranny in the truck. What was the dual outlets used for vs the single master cyl.

Re: The neighborhood pusher! 1963 c10
The '60-'62 Chevy's and '60-'63 GMC's 1/2 to 1 tons had hydraulic clutches. The brake and clutch master cylinder is one unit with one port for brakes and the other for the clutch. The '63 and up Chevy's and '64 and up GMC's 1/2 to 1 tons had mechanical clutches.

Re: The neighborhood pusher! 1963 c10
So is there a way to swap it out? Or just part out the 62 matter cylinder

Re: The neighborhood pusher! 1963 c10
I was talking about the master cylinder if one type can be swapped out for another type. I'm thinking it probably has to do with the type of transmission and clutch that truck originally had so I'm thinking that it probably cannot be swapped out. The 63 that I have as a master cylinder just for the breaks so it's a manual clutch not hydraulic 62 truck has a hydraulic master cylinder and brake line

Re: The neighborhood pusher! 1963 c10
The '62 brake and clutch master is not a direct swap onto a '63-'66 firewall. There is one style of '63 master cylinder that will bolt up to a '60-'62 firewall if you are using an auto trans. However there will be a hole in the firewall where the clutch side of the master cylinder was.

Re: The neighborhood pusher! 1963 c10
So about back in March, I noticed some lumps on the side of my neck. I didn't think anything of it and I figured I'd watch it. Well, come September they didn't go away. So I scheduled an appointment with my doctor and we got a cat scan done. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. But during that same exact time, my left knee decided to swell up to the size of a cantaloupe and my right ankle started having problems also. The knee issue was a problem for about 2-3 weeks and my ankle I'm still having problems with. Oct 17 I was supposed to have the surgery to remove the cancer and the lymph nodes it spread to. Well, I failed my stress test and so the surgery got canceled. Due to me having a reduce ejection fraction of 40%. That is what the heart pumps out in a single pump. A normal heart should be 60%. So they wanted to make sure my heart was strong enough. Today I had an angiogram to make sure I didn't need a stent or a bypass. Thank God, it's none of those. So I got some medication. I'm sure my doctor will tell me to loose weight and now I need to figure out my surgery for the Cancer.
So that has kinda had me busy from working on the truck. Well that and work, but im not working right now so funds are kinda low.

Re: The neighborhood pusher! 1963 c10
So I Just had my surgery on monday to remove my cancer from my neck and my thyroid. So progress will slow for a while on the truck. I've been working on the motor and digging into the body. Found this, this past weekend. Wonder what the story behind it is.
