Re: Nina Patina 1953 3100 project.
I didn't want to but I couldn't see leaving holes so I changed out the cab corners. I cut out only the bad parts and left as much as I could. I had a set of inner tubs from a 1965 c10 that I had found for a previous project that never got used so I cut 5"out of them and used them for my tubs, I think they look pretty good and match the rest of the patina.

Looking great! What fuel tank did you use?

Re: Nina Patina 1953 3100 project.
To be honest, i think the tubs lines work better than the patina! If you ever decided to change course and have it painted, the tubs would still look "right"...nice job!

Re: Nina Patina 1953 3100 project.
Thanks! I agree they were kind of a natural fit. if someone were doing more of a "prostreet" look they would work great for that as well. I just cut them to the narrowest part of the frame so there's about 5 more inches there that could have been used.

Re: Nina Patina 1953 3100 project.
ProCar lowback bucket seats arrived today. What a great deal these seats are. About the perfect size for the AD trucks and will look killer with the early 80's blazer console. Im really psyched at the way this truck is coming together but it is 12 frickin degrees out there today so it'll have to wait a few days.

Re: Nina Patina 1953 3100 project.
seats look good, I looked at the procars for my 41 but the thickness of the seat back put me off, how is the legroom?

Re: Nina Patina 1953 3100 project.
Been a while. Cold early spring here and not a lot of ambition to go with it. Ive been installing the wiring harness and buttoning up loose ends, getting pretty close now. Finished up the bed wood today. Nina will drive out of the garage on her own power soon!
