Good choice! I wish I could have hung onto mine like that in Medium Blue and White. More rare than a Cheyenne Super. My buddy has it and when the restoration is done it will be one mighty fine example of a K/20

Proves my point.
I see the opposite. Plenty of custom stuff is everywhere, especially in the build threads. and plenty of short beds. There always has been and always will be the stock restoration crowd when it comes to one of the greatest vehicles to ever leave the factory. That is where the following originates from. I don't see the belittling. Heck, it seems a huge amount of people here feel the truck won't move until it has a computerized LS in it and it's chopped to lay frame or try to handle like a sports car. Many seem to be only interested in the body style as a canvas for the same old sh!t people are doing to most anything old, leaving nothing but the body 67-72. If I speak up on that it's to preserve some sort of mentality to respect them enough to not put all to the point of no return. Personally, I have never left a truck stock.

One man's point of view never proves anything. But, you do see a lot of posts that reflect the owner's emphasis on the trucks value over all else. It seems many expect to get a profit when selling with pleasure gained not even factored in. That's where I profit. I just spend to enjoy.

Re: You can only choose one, period!

I only have one old ride that is stock and that is my 72 El Camino SS and the only reason it is still stock is it's too nice to change it yet .My trucks all get done my way ,looks stock sort of but not. I like them all as far as looking at them but I dont want another lowered one .My 93 Indy truck was lowered when I bought it but it may not stay that way ,rides too rough.

Re: You can only choose one, period!

I have it, and I haven't seen better for me. 1969 CST/10 long bed fleet side with tired factory stance and tired original paint job, not very many dents, plain factory wheels, correctly running engine and transmission, and a tailgate that works. Mine is the original 350 with TH400, both rebuilt, but I don't think I would be disappointed with some other combination, anything will do if it runs, but I do prefer automatic transmission. Someday I will get the air conditioning and door and window weatherstripping done. I predict it will be the first and last pickup truck for me, but you never know.

Re: You can only choose one, period!

I'm really glad to see there are still a lot of people still like long bed factory stance trucks. I would have thought this thread would have been all been short bed lower 1/2 ton that were dragging the ground. so good to see it is not.

Re: You can only choose one, period!

CG is asking what configuration from the factory would you pick, not how would you build one. That's why you aren't seeing a bunch of "Slammed to the ground" or any other modifications mentioned. He's pretty much just asking what "model", as they all have different model numbers by these items asked about. Trim level fits, too, because that was another choice when buying new. I wish I could have ordered a new truck back then. I did order a '92 and when I did it was like I was building what I would have wanted in '72

If only one, I would have to agree that the 68 front end on a K20 long fleet chassis would be fantastic.

Thank god we can have more than one. There are to many great options out there.

Re: You can only choose one, period!

Just one? Well if it was just one it would be a 1957 Napco GMC Suburban with the 347 V-8. I passed on one years ago and still kick my self. But there were real issues with it, not the least was the home made nine foot wide snow plow on the front end and the foot square hole in the center of the dash where the hydraulic controls stuck out. And after decades of snow plowing I was sure there were unseen issues. But seeing the prices they go for now it would have been worth it. Hope this doesn't get me baned from the forum. I do like my 67 Suburban, so don't hate me too much.

I want a hybrid.

I want a fully loaded, 1972 shorbed 2wd, with all the bells and whistles, big block, a/c, 4 speed, etc... BUT... with a 1967 big window CST body

I have 2/3 of that truck now

Re: You can only choose one, period!

Chevy would probably have too many problems trying to do it, but I thought it would be really neat if they made a reproduction edition modern truck. Let's say they built a 1967 reproduction in 2017, using the exact same and interchangeable body parts. I would forgive them for putting in it a modern engine and modern air conditioning and other features such as antilock brakes, air bag, etc. You mentioning hybrid is what made me think of it. That sort of hybrid could be my one and only.

I've had a lot, even at one time, and I'm sorry but it's two for me and that's it for good! So, my last "ONE" are a '67 C1500 Super Custom SWB Wideside 327/manual shift and a '72 K2500 Sierra Wideside 350/TH350. It will be earlier years from now on
