OK, I'm 65 years old, but I'd like to ask if you'd be my dad. I'd love to have a truck like this. I recommend that you put some kind of fingerprint technology on the steering wheel or something, so that that knucklehead boyfriend she's bound to find can't drive it and trash it. :nods:

How much of a PITA was installing the full floor?

Replacing the full floor and firewall was the smartest decision for the cab rebuild...the real PITA was I also had to replace all 4 lower corner posts/door jam posts...now that was the PITA. Had to be very precise so that everything was squared out and doors had the correct reveal all around...but I will say the decision to replace all that was indeed the right one. Did take a lot of time.

Re: Father / Daughter ’70 Short Bed Resto…

So had a good couple of weeks. Making more progress on getting finish paint on the panels, and other cab miscellaneous parts. Got the cab shell to its final body work stage ready for the sealer:

Sorry about some of the pics, used the flash. Also the outer side of the fenders are not in clear yet.

Re: Father / Daughter ’70 Short Bed Resto…

2/21/2018 - So just finished with getting the cab in paint. Interior and door jams along with firewall are to the finish clear, everything else is just to base coat until I assemble the cab and front end. Will now proceed with putting interior and wiring together. Take a look....

Re: Father / Daughter ’70 Short Bed Resto…

This may be a dumb question but why are you waiting to clear the other parts after assembly? I’m in the middle of a complete build and I plan on setting the cab on the frame . Then hang sheetmetal and adjust gaps. Then take everything back apart and paint and clear. Am I missing something bud?

Hey TXgearhead67, no I wouldn't say your missing anything...this is just my approach of doing the final reassembly. I wait to shoot the clear until I have completed all the alignments/adjustments as necessary. The main reason for me is the the actual assembly of the sheet metal...since I do most (~95%) of the assembly solo...you never know WHEN or IF I may cause or get a scratch on a panel. If I do, well then its easier for me to repair at that stage before I am in full clear. So...that's just my logic...its worked out good for me so far.

I actually am at the stage of mounting the cab on the chassis and hanging the front inner and outer fenders, dong that this weekend...coming together nicely...will post pics soon!!!
