Re: 65 long fleetside
Only have to make speaker boxes, mount the seat, tape and align the front end and get the air cleaner back from the painter...
And then I'm done...for now...lol |

Re: 65 long fleetside
Ok...got the brakes sorted...rears are good...had to replace the front calipers on both sides...also had a new brake hose on the left collapse...it wouldn't let the left front release.
Also changed the seat...I know it's grey but will have it recovered...so for now a Mexican blanket will do...soon as I get one...lol |

Re: 65 long fleetside
So we put in the new torque converter, Thor 2300-2500 stall, swapped to poly motor mounts, new kick down brackets and cable, 5.5 power valve and re-jetted the carb; it had 64s and switched to 71s.
Runs a ton better but still have to adjust the vacuum on the trans...surges at highway speeds. And the gold flake intake and valve covers have to go. Not enough firewall clearance for the valve covers and the heat is killing the paint on the intake. Soon as I get some pics I'll post 'em up. Going to Columbia, South Carolina next week to my son's graduation from boot camp...Fort Jackson here we come... |

Re: 65 long fleetside
Got some new valve covers...gold flake ones were too tall...I like the look of these better and have more clearance at the firewall
