Re: Re-Open the Open Roads
Im lovin this work you guys are doing. So quickly too. It really looks like a FUN project. In a post way back you said that these are popping up more and more in your area. I think I need to start hunting in Arizona since I havent seen a one here in Texas for a long time. Its probably just that since this build has started I have wanted one of these more and more. A C20 actually would be a real investment, unlike the 26 foot Allegra motorhome that sat insured and unused for nearly 3 years in my front yard. It had F*%# 460 /C6 combo that drank a case a mile @ $4.65/gallon gas (back a few years). I think the perfect combo for me would be what you have, with the camper that could be removed and a dump bed set-up to run around in. Work and play in the same truck! I wonder if this has been done... they say nothing is new under the sun. Keep up the awesome work, then post picks of you and the family around a campfire with that beauty in the background. At the pace you are going it will be soon!

Did you see this one in MN? https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/d...588054660.html The wife said "Get it Done" so this one moved to the front of the line. I am hoping (Hope is not an action word) to have this one running by the end of summer. Once I figure out the fuel system on this engine, the rest should be a wrap....About to start throwing mad $$$$$ at this one.... Smitty

So after a needed vacation I am back on the Motor Home.
Got the front cap wrapped in Filon. This was the biggest pain of the entire re-wrap.... On to the roof... Smitty

Re: Re-Open the Open Roads
Thanks guys
I have the floor in and a lot of insulation in the walls done. Waiting on the electrical lady to validate and certify my 120v wiring. Getting the outer trim on as they really do not sell what you need to do it so I came up with my own. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Smitty

Re: Re-Open the Open Roads
When the aftermarket does not provide what you need, you make what you need. Me and a friend used a bead roller to help fabricate the front cap trim. After I weld it up, it will be powder coated.
