Hi, I’m interested in this for a ‘68 GMC long-bed with drums all around.
Do you still have them available?
Thanks…

Re: 30% More Powerful-New 1/2T Power Brake Sys

I was wondering if you sell just the booster? I'm looking to replace a failed stock booster on my 67 1/2 ton and the smaller double diaphragm booster would be nice.

No parts for sale. Complete systems use coordinated parts and are not just stock replacements.

Yes. Still building complete systems, as shown. I use new adjustable valves and lines on my Drum/drum units. These function as a Dist Block and fit really well. Note 2022 prices.

Re: 30% More Powerful-New 1/2T Power Brake Sys

What size is the booster and the master cylinder's bore diameter? And the system is 30% better than what? I assume that's relative to some of the aftermarket kits that don't properly size the master cylinder and booster.

I ask because my 69's stock 71-72 master cylinder, booster, and disc/drum brakes will just about put me through the windshield!

That said, the factory did a much better job than the aftermarket does today. Way too many improperly sized boosters and master cylinders, and "one size fits all" fixed-pressure proportional valves used by default. I like that yours was designed specifically for our trucks, and fits without mods.

Re: 30% More Powerful-New 1/2T Power Brake Sys

The booster is 9" dual diaphram (DD), new, built for our systems. It is 30% more powerful than original OEM 1/2T. Other components are selected and fitted for our specific truck applications, not some universal off-the-shelf car parts. You cannot buy this system in catalogs or web sites.

Re: 30% More Powerful-New 1/2T Power Brake Sys

The dual 9" booster answers my question! That's a good way to go. Funny that some kits have dual 7" or even a single 8". Downside is you may put some guys through the windshield.

Frank, what is the reference to "MO" above? I see you're in WA, does it reference Mail Order or Missouri? I'm in Missouri and why I'm asking.

Re: 30% More Powerful-New 1/2T Power Brake Sys

MP Brakes says you need 18" minimum idle vacuum, but I think that's conservative. That number will vary with caliper and pad type, as well as booster area and vehicle weight.

The kit listed in this thread uses two 9" boosters, which is a lot of diaphragm area! So I'd say 16"-18" should be fine, assuming your calipers, pads, rotors, drums, shoes and hoses are in good shape. Otherwise it's like installing a performance cam and a new carb on a worn-out engine.

It sits in the same location as the stock/OEM PB pedal.
