If you go to an auto glass shop near the end of the day they might give you a part tube of urethane because they throw them out. Use it right away though. |

Re: Correctly made window beltline felts
I think I have bought at least 3 different brands and none of them worked like I would like. But I have never purchased them from Rubber the Right Way. Sorry I cant help. If you do get them let us know how they work.

They are better, however, the window still hits at the bottom, just not as bad.

So the door window bumpers came in from Steele Rubber.

Re: Correctly made window beltline felts
So I pulled the trigger. Literally the drill trigger. I removed the clips and cut about an inch off of the curved part and started drilling and screwing and it worked. The passenger side works just as I would like. The driver side is almost as good. When the window is all the way up it pushes out the outside door skin a little bit. I think I still need to take the window out and readjust how it sits in the channel. Window down and window up

Re: Correctly made window beltline felts
I wonder if it is possible to trim the felt on the fuzzies. Like with a hair trimmer or something like that. I am guessing no. It probably would only trim the fur that just pushes over and not the thick part.

OldGyrene, what did it cost you to get the new glass? I asked at a local shop if they had patterns for my 65 and they just looked at me cross eyed.

Re: Correctly made window beltline felts
Well I purchased the rubber the right way set and I have the metal framed glass. My drivers doors was getting too cracked from closing the door so bought replacement glass. The felt clips are the same as others shown on here with them sitting lower. My window barely goes up its so tight but I am attributing that to the felt in the sides not the strips at the bottom. Getting it to fit right in the upper corner opposite the vent window is tough. Im going to try and bend the felt more as well. Makes me nervous rolling the window up without grabbing it with both hands to assist it up.
Also replaced the rubber on the vent window which was a major pain but looks so much better. |

Re: Correctly made window beltline felts
I got fed up fighting these and broke off all the clips and used a 5/64 drillbit and screwed them at the right height using #4 screws. Just buy extra, like 4-5 drillbits because you will break them. I believe I put 4 screws in per strip.

Re: Correctly made window beltline felts
Been a few months…just wanting to see what the verdict is here on the rubber the right way sweeps? Just the sweeps or buy the whole kit? Thanks for the input. I’m definitely going to but the sweeps but wonder if i should buy the whole kit if that work better than mixing manufacturers.
