Thanks guys! I lost some of the photos I took today, but here's what I got done:

Engine bay wiring is ready for a battery. I broke a terminal off one headlight, so I'll have to get new headlights, and front turn signals are just waiting for a bumper. I cleaned up the wiring in the cab so I just have to put the instrument cluster back in. The rear body harness is in except one connection and a license plate light (also waiting for a bumper).

I think it's going well, but I sure hope everything works!

I finished the rear body harness this morning and put the dash back together, so the wiring harness is basically finished with only a couple minor things left to do. Really just the front turn signals and rear license plate light which are both waiting for bumpers. I also got the new distributor installed, which I don't think will have firewall clearance issues. And I installed new spark plugs and wires.

This thing should fire up with a battery and gasoline!

That was part of the American Autowire 510089 update kit. I bet they sell it separately.

Thanks for the info, I actually use their 510089 Classic Update kits on all truck builds I do. I will need to go over to their site and check that out. Thanks!

I put a battery to the new wiring and there were a couple issues of course.

The dome/cargo/courtesy fuse blew immediately. My friend wired the cab (under the bus he goes! ), so I took things apart and found the cargo light was the problem. I rewired that circuit and now it all works. The courtesy lights under the dash are a cool extra from American Autowire.

The engine would not start. Determined to be the column shifter was not adjusted correctly for the neutral safety switch position. Adjusted and now the key turns the starter. I am hoping this also means the backup lights will work properly.

I don't think the cluster lights are working. Difficult to tell in the daytime, so I will check it out at night. I put in LEDs, so that might be the problem but the same LEDs worked fine in my other '72.

Front turn signals/markers are not working right, but at least I know why - There is no front bumper to find ground for the circuit. It should work once that is done.

I could use an extra person to help me check things like the brake/backup lights, as well as timing the new distributor, topping off the new power steering just as it starts, and working on the brakes. I only bumped the starter, and I'd like to see it run and drive again soon.

I ordered some bucket seats that will be here next week. They are Bestop TrailMax II Classic Low Back (for Jeeps). I found them on Amazon for $130 each. The price sure is great, but I hope they aren't junk.

I installed some Bilstein shocks today.

Here are the part numbers (and the recommended Tuff Country shocks):
Front shocks (for 2" lift):
Bilstein 33-233970; 20.38" extended, 13.04" collapsed
(Tuff Country 61201; 20.5" extended, 12.5" collapsed)
Rear shocks (for 3" lift):
Bilstein 33-185552; 25.93" extended, 15.91" collapsed
(Tuff Country 61261; 26.5" extended, 16.0" collapsed)

Darn! One of the new seats arrived and it's the wrong color. I ordered brown and they sent black. Back it goes!

I've never been a fan of K10/20 trucks until now; I like what you're doing with this one. It looks so much better without the body lift and the ladder rack and with new wheels and tires.

What's your plan for the paint? CLR treatment?

Thanks! I don't really plan on doing anything with the paint. Mechanical fixes only for this beater.

Those seats look like a great alternative for the original buckets and a fraction of the cost. Keep up the great work. I like this one.

New gas tank arrived today. It will be nice to run off this instead of a one gallon gas can.

Finished up the fuel lines this morning. Gasoline in the tank. Gas gauge works.

The bottom flange was slightly bent back and the fill neck was slightly off center, but nothing that couldn't be easily adjusted. I would complain more about the sending unit not lining up with the hard line that goes through the floor. It all works now though.

Brand is Tanks Inc, and I got it from Summit. The filler grommet is from Classic Heartbeat. Gas cap is vented (Stant 17491 for a 1969 truck) since the charcoal canister system is abandoned.

They sent me another black seat! This is difficult because you can't call Amazon and ask what the problem is. I still had to open it up and see what it looked like in the cab. I think they will work well once I get two that are the color that I ordered.

Just the seat. They sell sliders for them that I was thinking about ordering. I'll have some brackets fabricated to attach the seats to the floor.

Just my luck that I'd find a gas tank right after buying a new one. I picked up this whole pile of parts from a friend for $100. I'm definitely using the seat belts in the 4x4.

Not sure what I'll do with that yet. I might throw it in the truck until the buckets show up and I get some brackets made.
