That one day I'll be driving it instead of restoring it.

For me, the ability to fix most of the problems associated with this generation of trucks without having to fork out $$100's of dollars to a dealer not knowing what they may have done.
I am very proud when my 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son ask me to pick them up from school in the "red" truck. I also appreciate the thumbs up I get when I drive down the road and am at a stopsign. Jason... 70 stepside, 400ci, TH350 President Yuma Classic Truck Club Yuma, AZ |

The satisfaction that I did everything myself. That's priceless.
The work that I've done on my truck has helped me get three jobs including my current job. Where else can you get such great experience.

For me it's not just one thing, I love the styling of the body and grille, I can work on every piece of it myself, and it's paid for, I get compliments on the sound of it, when driving down the road seeing people's heads turn to look at it,getting a thumbs up or a smile and nod, and I am constantly getting offers to buy it, but I wouldn't sell it for anything!!!

Everything you guys said is what I would say to a 67-72 truckaholic but to most people I just tell them;
"If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand."

I love the style of the 67-72 trucks, and especially the 71-72 egg crate grille. My truck specifically? I like it because it's MINE, and its got posi!

Style, lines, the look on the rice ball when he can't pass me, and the fact wrenches fall on the garage floor when I drop them...

Dang, how can you not enjoy seeing one coming down the road? They're the last truly good looking truck out there. A very tough look with great lines. Nowadays, they're all starting to look similar. Plus, not everyone can say they have a classic like we can!
PLUS, did you see what Arnold picked as his first vehicle to drive in Terminator 3? Y'all check it out...Brought a tear to my eye!

I own both all my trucks. i might have more in my 67 than my 96, but when im done with my 67. Like a lot of the other younger people here said: I've done all the work myself or with my dad. I own it and im the sole funder of it. And when its done, im going to be able to drive it around and like it better than my newer truck. Among many other things also, theres an endless list

Dad's gift, planning it around the table countless times, and when I miss him (passed away two month ago) I have something tangible to do to feel somewhat close to him.

all the same reasons you guys have,
Plus: I love driving my rusted up ’72 c20 to the GM tech center... parking it next to the executives 80k+ vehicle. Parking just close enough for the fat…fer to squeeze though his driver side door. Im contract by the way. ![]()
