Re: My 58 Brookwood

The problem was that even with 7.4 pushrods and the rockers adjusted all the way up. The valve train was just way to tight.
my Solution is to make 1/8" spacers to place under the pedestals.

Re: My 58 Brookwood

we spent all day making these spacers to try to salvage the rockers, but it looks as if they won’t work!

Re: My 58 Brookwood

This is the LS3 all buttoned up
Can anyone tell me if the steam tubes have to be in front? I’ve converted them to 4AN.
This is a real 6.2, just over 500hp!

Finally received the correct belt today and installed it
Bolted the fuel rails down
Took out the radiator and prepped the 250 to pull
Did a 1/8 NPT tap for an elbow to route the steam tubes to

This is a sweet build and that is an awesome engine! What did you finally figure out on your valve train issue?

Re: My 58 Brookwood

Pulled the old 250/3 speed out. Making way for the LS3!
Empty engine bay. I will be converting from manual steering to a CCP Power gearbox. I will also be converting to dual reservoir power disk up front

Agreed! Where did you get those? Most of the "pretty" valve covers seem to omit the oil fill cap, and that's not good for routine maintenance.

Re: My 58 Brookwood

Watching carefully! I have a 59 brookwood that burns as much oil as it leaks. Planning a 5.3 so I’m excited to see how your project goes. Love those old wagons! Keep the updates coming and thanks for sharing.

Re: My 58 Brookwood

We cut the bump for the master and steering column. Removed all the Wiring in the engine bay, and removed any clutch/throttle linkage.
This is the steering column I bought for it.

Re: My 58 Brookwood

We welded in that firewall patch to smooth it out.
Then we modified an S10 brake pedal assembly to work
We wound up using part of the 58's pedal assembly to get it to be bolt-on.

Re: My 58 Brookwood

The Brake pedal and booster are in. We may need to go With a smaller diameter booster because it contacts the hood hinge.
