Thanks Jack! My radiator shop is closed until Monday so I'll let you know then after he looks it over. -Brian

Re: Accident on freeway, GMC finished?
I would go ahead and get a new fan. Little story. I was 6 years old when I saw a fellow run past me bleeding like crazy. Shorten the story- His fan blade came apart as he was working on his car. I turned it off for him. Then I saw what happened. Nother quick one-68 Camaro at the shop for vibrations. Boss revved it a couple times and the fan went through the hood. Good thing it was closed.

Re: Accident on freeway, GMC finished?
Sounds like cheap insurance to get a new one that hasn't been bent back and forth. I truly appreciate this and all advice. I used to think I knew a lot about these trucks but after finding this site I've realized I'm in about 2nd grade knowledge-wise with these things. -BA

Re: Accident on freeway, GMC finished?
Brian I have no use for the radiator so I will get a box for it next week and box it up. Don’t waste time repairing yours if it’s been hit. This one is perfect. Send me your zip code okay

I sure could use a RIGHT side set. Also the grill I bought seems to be the wrong one. So I'd really like to look at yours. Thanks! Brian The one I had is taller (see pics).

Re: Accident on freeway, GMC finished?
There are guys on this forum that know a hell of a lot more about front sheet metal and grills. I think if you had bought a complete '68 front end for $300 you could have put it back together as a '68. From what i see, you bought a $300, '68 fender that won't fit any '69 parts.
'67 & '68 have the sloped hood. '68 & '69 have the same grill, but the '68 grill surround and fenders are different than '69 because of the sloped hood. That's as much as I know and I may have that wrong See if these LMC pages don't help you. https://www.lmctruck.com/1967-72-che...eel-body-parts https://www.lmctruck.com/1967-72-che...grille-for-gmc https://www.lmctruck.com/1967-72-che...grille-for-gmc It looks like the core support is GMC only and changed from '68 to '69. https://www.lmctruck.com/1967-72-che...and-components

Re: Accident on freeway, GMC finished?
As long as your new grill is a 67 or 68 you're doing fine. 69 - 72 use a different upper bar. You just need a right fender......

Sorry to see your truck was wrecked but so glad to see you fixed it instead of selling it or it going to the scrap yard!

Re: Accident on freeway, GMC finished?
Yeah, me too. It looked pretty bad there for a while. I don't give up easily plus it gave me a good chance to use my brand new Makita XWT11SR1 18v impact wrench. Great tool! Still need a hood and the other two headlights, paint the one fender.

Re: Accident on freeway, GMC finished?
Looking good and glad you saved it.
The one thing that I find really refreshing on this site is the number of guys that aren't dropping $50K+ in builds. Many, like me, dropping a few thousand to get a decent truck running and on the street. Don't get me wrong, I love the other stuff too. I covet many a truck on here for the time and money their owners have put into them. I just am glad to be in like company for the time being. I'll drive mine rough on the outside but shiny underneath until I get time and $$ to make it look better. Probably never great, but better.

Well good. So are you able to drive it any? I bet that hood flutters in the wind a bit. You're doing great and for not much money too.
