Yes & yes. But the limits I see on the Speedway Engineering site indicate 1.250" OD solid bars when desiring a 32" bar width. They show larger bars for 'cup' cars but @ 37" widths which is too wide for me.

I also didn't want to be 1K into a front sway bar & haven't seen any pricing yet.

Take a look at Kartek's site. They have the Speedway Engineering bars in solid, 0.188, and 0.250 wall in lenghts from 32" up to 39.5 in one inch increments.

$150 for the bar is about as cheap as your going to get for a quality product. They have a fair selection of arms as well including some blank aluminum bars you could have machined with some detail if you desired.

32" is my max width (outside edges of my rails). A 1.250" solid bar w/11" arms yields a rate of 609#. This leaves up/down adjustability (664 or 554# @ 1" increments @ the arm) for tuning. The same OD tubular bar would only yield a lower torsional rate.

For comparison, Ridetechs sway-bar used on their front C10 C/O app has a rating of 1020# (1.5" OD .250" wall construction).

I feel I need a larger bar as my starting spring rate is 750# or I would have to utilize shorter arms. Packaging wise, a larger bar would be better for my app. The only ones I see larger on the Speed Engineering site are the wider 'cup-car' spec bars (37" width).

I'll check out Kartek. Thanks for the lead.

The majority of the machine work you've seen has been done at my work but I also have a mill and lathe in my home shop. Things like the upper links had all of the cnc work done at my work and anything that can be done manually is done in my home shop.

Pretty clean machine work. I thought those rear axle brackets were aluminum for a while. Had me all gerfunkled as how you would attached them.

I checked out the Kartek site. Unfortunately, the increase in OD significantly impacts price. $156 for the 1.250" solid bars but jumps to $700 for 1.5" solid @ 36" width w/no hollow option (for something possibly between the two choices). The 1.5" bars are also 35-spline requiring that spec arm which are also priced higher.

The search continues.

The 1.5 bars are 300m material. Thats whats driving the massive price increase. Those are typically used on trophy trucks to allow for the missive amount of twist it will see.
Whats the application that is causing the required high rate? If its not a very long travel I would think you could go down to a much shorter arm. Ive seen guys running 6" arms pretty easily if the geometry is correct. Good luck on the continued search!

It's an aftermarket front x-member w/bag or coil-over dropped application. The 'long arm' requirement is simply the distance between the bar C/L & the mounting spot @ the control arm. I'm investigating location possibilities now to see if I can move things closer which would allow for shorter arms.

I got the upper links last week and had to drill and tap them for the threaded bushings on my manual mill.






I did some cardboard template work and came up with diff side mounts. Cut them out and got it all tacked together. This rear 4 link has been a long time coming so it felt really good to see it all together!

Thanks! The current plan for the bed floor is to be partially covered with beadrolled aluminum panels. Some of the axle and link area will stay open and exposed. Similar to Tiffany c10 if you have ever seen that truck.

The swaybar components came in. I built the brackets and mocked everything in place. Im not completely happy with the look yet so it may change. I am going to leave it clamped in place for a bit and see if it grows on me.







I also started drawing up some billet upper arms for the front suspension. with all the billet on the rear it started to make me unhappy with the look of the front suspension.

Im looking at using the cross shaft of the Joes racing arms and bolting on the billet arms. They will utilize a standard c10 bolt in upper ball joint.

Spent some time last night working on cab mount design. I ordered some cab mount bushings and as soon as I get those and verify thickness I will cut and build the cab mounts and trial fit the cab. That will allow me to start working on the cowl mounting.
