dash
This is a picture before I aligned the bed.
Notice how the upper mouldings drop at the rear but the lower mouldings seem straight. I stripped the truck myself and left all factory moulding holes alone. I ended up shimming the back of the bed 2" above the stock shims. The result was pretty good.I'll take some current pictures over the weekend to get expert advise from all of you. I welcome any comments. This is probably the wrong thread for this but I'm known on this thread. Thanks PS. I will be previewing my latest gauge "invention" on this thread today or tomorrow. |

The wheels are "WINGNUTS"
Same as my 56. They look like American Torq Thrust II's with a "twist" By the way, I make custom caps that fit "Thrust's" I'll post pictures later. Thanks, Javier 91 more post's |

Here's a picture of a cap I made for my wife's truck.
I machined her name "RUBY" on them. I have different style caps available. |

Man I love those rims!!!! I have been trying to find a set for a few months now. I tried to buy them new, but my local wheel vendor said they had been discontinued. I am looking for 17 x 8's with a 5 on 5 lug pattern. I think I am going to end up getting the Eagle 211's (ebay, they are torq thrust II copies). Sweet rides Javy................Jerry

KMC made them but discontinued them.
They made them to your specs as far as backspacing and widths. 90 more posts Last edited by Javy; 01-10-2004 at 09:59 PM. |

dash
Getting back to the topic,
I have one and only one of this dash bezel which accepts three 2 1/16 dia autometer gauges between speedo and tach. I used a clock and 2 air pressure gauges. I won't be making any more. This was the prototype for the woodgrained one in my truck. I'm taking bids. Would you guys suggest e-bay ? Since you know the history about this. |

I don't know about bids since that isn't allowed here but if you put it on the parts board you'd probably get rid of it pretty quick.

Javy,
I love your rides, and am really impressed with you getting on here and telling your side of the story in a mature fashion, i think you have earned the respect (and business) of many of our members. David

dash
This is the WORLD PREMIER of this invention of mine.
Only on ** 67-72chevytrucks.com ** My patent application is far enough along with PAT PENDING status that if BROTHER'S wants to try this time, they will face legal action. I never would have made my aluminum dash if I had come up with this idea before. Excuse my grammer and spelling right now because I'm hungery and the wife is waiting for me at home so I'm in a hurry writing this. I designed a ring or bezel in which you insert an Autometer gauge in this bezel and retain it with 3 stainless steel set screws. Then you mount this assembly in a panel as you would any other gauge except thru a slightly bigger hole with existing hardware. A 2 5/8" dia gauge requires a 2 5/8 dia hole. With this bezel, all you do is drill a 3" dia hole. This leaves you with semi-flush mounted gauges. I realize VDO and other manufactures make gauges with similar results, but I prefer Autometer Pro Series gauges. Nascar runs these gauges so I plan on supplying them. I haven't set pricing yet.I'm thinking of $18.00 each. Available in polished aluminum. Several sizes available. I would appreciate all comments. Thanks, Javier |

Javy,
I'm interested in the dash you have for sale with the space for 3 gauges between the tach and speedo. Private message sent.

I like those! Do you have the same kind of thing for the tach and speedo?

I would have taken a 1/4" aluminun plate and drilled appropriate
holes.Using these bezels would have given me the "flush" look I was looking for. These bezels can be used in ANY application regardless of year or make of vehicle, including marine applications. |

The one thing I've always disliked about the autometer gauges was how big the bezel is. I went with VDO on my last project due to that.
You just fixed that problem! I think it looks sweet. |

Well, I sent Javier a money order this weekend for one of his instrument bezels since I prefer his design over any others I have seen. I guess I will see how well it fits when I get it.

I haven't read the forum rules and I certainly don't want to break
any rules so if Josh is reading, please advise proper procedure. I started out with a listing on e-bay and thanks to that I was informed of this AWSOME site. I only wish I knew about it 4 years ago ! Thanks, Javy |
