Everyone calls my truck BIG RED. Not sure who in the family coined it, but it has stuck for the last 15 or so years.

Boomer...short for boomerang
After I bought my truck last summer people started telling me that that truck use to run around here back in the 80s. I figured it must be one like it.
a couple weeks ago I found out its true, & actually met the original owner,& Marty, the guy who redid it in 1988. He was like a kid who found his lost puppy. He had to sell it in 91. gettin him in to much trouble..
The truck had left the area in 91... 13 years later & only 20,000 more miles, its back home. Boomerang
Hey I cant attach a pic!!!!

67 4x4 lwb fleetside. Either Old Maroon or The Beast. The truck is maroon, with white top (first n.n.) and it has no powersteering or power brakes (second n.n.)

Re: Do you have a nickname for your truck?

Thought of making a thread about this, but was sure there was one out there already.

Anywho, my truck's name is Scarlet. Scarlet is a shade of red, which is the color that it'll be . Also, I like my truck having a feminine name.

As was said on an early post of this, I think the term "Lawn Ornament" might be more appropriate
As seen in my signature the 70 has aquired a new name

Pieces (I wonder why )

The 83 is our Hoopty Jr or Jr for short

Of course Whitey is still Whitey

Re: Do you have a nickname for your truck?

There was a thread a bit more recent two,as I recall...like '06.

Never really gave names other than "The 72","The Red Truck","The Shortbed","The work truck","The 1t","The GMC",etc, unless I had more than one.
Right now I have my White '72 GMC K2500 That I either call "The '72","The White Truck",or "The K2500". My '67 GMC SWB project I call "Project Poorboy" in my signature and that's it. I usually call it "The project,"The '67",or "The shortbed". The '71 C/30 tow truck I call "The tow truck".

You know, we still dont have a name for her. We have named every other vehicle we have owned, so we will find something soon that matches her personality.

Big Orange. I'll get some pics taken tomorrow, I hope. I make a point of calling it "Big Orange", as it is Hugger Orange, which my wife and her family have called "red" for decades.
