made the brackets for the sending unit on the transmission.
the sender powers the gear shift indicator.

Also made an oil pressure piece to hold the classic
instruments sending unit. Machined it from 6061 aluminum.

Started the rust repair on the other rear fender(not as bad as the last one). By the way, found an old dive weight, works great as a dolly!Name: 0123161738_HDR-01[1].jpg

Finished up and installed a snazzier air filter. As a kid in the 60's I remember seeing these Edelbrock filters on various muscle cars that would drop by on visits with friends of my older brothers.
I cut the bottom out of a junker oil bath base, brazed it to the bottom of the Edelbrock base, a little paint here and there to blend it all together.
A classic design that stuck with me, out with the oil bath and in with the foam.

Installed my recently re-chromed original bumper, had the mounting brackets powder coated while it was apart. Makes the front one look bad now

Its raining out today. Not much I can do outside so I brought a wheel into the shop and am polishing my Cragers. 1 down 3 more to go.

Janky, the air looks really good!

Earl, nice and shiny. I had Cragar SS wheels on my first car and loved them, except the chrome had a tendancy to peel off. Classic wheel.

Re: What did you do with your truck today, take 2

FarmerSid. Thanks. Its easier to clean all the little spaces between the spokes and such and can't forget those pesky lugnuts.

Thanks AD. I found this set a few years ago at a yard sale. The guy had a sign on them that said $25.00. I thought that 100.00 was a good price on the set because they were in real good condition. Nope, he just wanted $25.00 for the lot. Sure made my day.

Here is something else I'm working on today. Hood latches off a Saab. Making them fit my tilt front clip.

Earl

Got my new wheels. Also cut out an opening in doors so it will be easier to clean and adjust windows. Used old doors to make a bolt in panel and it all will be covered when I do the interior.

Worked on smoothing front parking lights. Going with a headlight that has built in park/turn.

Installed a NOS heater switch. That and the new vent door seals I installed last week, maybe the cab won't be as drafty as it used to.

Re: What did you do with your truck today, take 2

Installed driver's side running board, using a combination of Chris' design and my own. Came out OK. Should have cut the square tubing myself instead of having the metal Yard do it. May have to re-work the front mount.

JJ,

I may be WAAY off but that looks like a middle-of-the-back-seat radio speaker from a 60's ('59?) Impala. Am I warm?

Of course, the question is where are you using this thing no matter what it really is!

Re: What did you do with your truck today, take 2

Got the cab back on the "flip project" and got all the sheet metal off mine, swapped around sheetmetal between trucks to get the choicer pieces for mine and started gathering up all the pieces to make flip as complete as possible for next potential owner..

Also had a killer day picking parts with Sim6 (Jeff) at an old country junkyard that is chunk full of old cars/trucks/parts.
