Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!

no big news to report but I just ordered 2 lbs of satin powder coat, will be heading over to sourkrout's place soon to bake some parts, maybe some cookies too!

Picking up my new balancer and sway bar bushings. I think i'm gonna get a 1" carb spacer so that the Edelbrock fuel filter will clear the heater hose a little more...

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!

picked these up last night. 32x11.5x15 on 6-lug rally's.. the spare is still new!

I think i'll keep my options open for wheels and see how I like the tire size when I hang sheetmetal.. The other four are bald as heck but they will work for rollers for now. Not bad for $10 each

Nice grab, trim rings alone go for more than that.

I only paid $45 for my posi-axle at the junkyard! The guy knew they were worth more he just wanted rid of them, he said even at that price people were trying to buy "just the tires" or "just the rims" or thought they would need to much work to clean up...

I made a 30 mile special trip just to get them since I knew they wouldn't be around long..

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!

I was playing around with some parts I picked up last summer. Some of this is original and some isn't... I still need to paint the gauges but it doesn't take much to make this look sharp...

Truck was a factory tach though..I still have to drill a hole for the manual throttle and add the choke delete emblem.

LOL... I didn't show you the GM choke delete or new printed circuit though... I'll save the full dash for when I paint the needles and get the manual throttle installed... I don't have speedwarning so it's not totally complete...

I would just buy a new $30 bezel and touchup the needles with some flourecent red hobby paint.. you can polish the lens with some brasso and a cotton cloth..

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!

Just picked up another "much needed" part. Rust Buster (Tim) had a scratch and dent sale on a tri-plus 67-68 hood so I stopped by his place on the way back from Virginia Beach and picked it up. The wife loved adding an extra hour to the trip, not to mention strapping the hood to the roof of the Tahoe!!!

Pics tomorrow on that one!

Thanks Tim, nice linking up with you again and letting the youngest take a #2!
