All three trucks were long beds when I got them. The green truck is a c20 custom camper. I bought all the trucks with the intention on leaving the factory paint. I modified how I did the outer bedsides to minimize the metal distortion and push the section lines to the edge so when they rust they don't stand out as much. The final product is much easier to work with if painting is desired or or left alone like I have done.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm a body man by trade so I have some background in sectioning. I was lucky to find all three trucks with original paint and I knew I wanted it to stay that way. I just pushed the section lines to the end to save as much paint as possible. The inside bed sections are as you would normally see in a post on here. I did the green truck as a test on fleet sides and it actually went faster than I expected. I will post some of the photos but I make a much better body man than IT person. I have only been able to post one photo at a time. Good news is my wife is a IT guru so there is hope.

Unless they've started since I last checked, Wheel Vintiques doesn't offer wheels in 6-lug. They are primarily a car wheel company. Fortunately there are cars with 5 on 5. I'm sure by now they'd be making wheels for GM Trucks, since their following has gone viral. (Jeez, I hate that catch phrase...sorry )

Hey Special K, Do you or anyone else know of a wheel company making 8'lugs? It so far seems to me, only a few choices out there. Love American racing wheels but very few choices unless you have 5 lugs... Thanks.

Thumbs up Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

I am loving all the pictures here ! .

Myself , I'm an old Farm Boy / Mechanic so I'll always prefer the plain vanilla white wheels with dog dish hub caps (yellow Bow Ties are just wrong to me ) but seeing the various different steel rally , sport and whatever wheels , painted , chromed , trim rings or not , is very interesting as there's an art form to how so many of you dress your trucks .

Keep the pictures coming please ! .

Re: Whose on Steelies? Post 'em up!

Yes, Wheel Vintiques offers these OEM-style steel wheels in various widths and diameters. I plan on buying 16 x 8s for my '72. If you want other styles, there are a few steel designs in powder coat or chrome and various alloys. I like the AR23s by American Racing. Now, if they'd make a wheel like that with no rivets I'd be all the happier. A 5-spoke alloy wheel with no nooks & crannies, smooth surfaces, would get my attention. It seems the classy wheels like that get discontinued to make more room for over styled fad chasing what's it wheels.

I just got my 16x8s from Wheel Vintiques. They turned out pretty nice. I would use them again.

Been lookin' at this thread, went all the way back to you the originator. Seein' we are both Oregonians is kinda fun. Alas, I don't really love dog dishes like some , but I do like steelies of any form. Having 8 lugs as I do limits all options, so I chose Black Daytona's with Ultra centers and big chrome nuts!

Took the wheel covers off this morning and popped on some 67 dog dish caps I have. Pretty happy with the way they look against black steelies, I'll probably leave them on for a while.

The steelies on my C20 truck is widened 90's steel wheels. I had them widened 1.5 front and 2.5 or 3(can't remember) for the rear wheels.

I have always really appreciated what you did with those wheels. When I ordered my '92 K3500 new I had just that process planned for it...yet never pursued it. I just retired that truck in June after 22 years a 335,000 miles. I'm about to pick up a '95 Suburban I may just have that done on. That's a great look for a C/20. I have yet to see others done. you've got a unique wheel and it seems to go over everyone's head. Nice truck!

Thanks special-K,
I actually had them painted in a dark grey colour at first. Then I decided to go with the same yellow as the truck after I restored it. I'm sure it would look good on a 90's truck or Suburban too. If you do it to a 90's truck, please post some pics, I'm also interested in the 90's trucks.

Hope this isn't a highjack but if you have 15" 6-bolts, would you stay 15" or have you gone to 16" 6 bolts? I prefer a stock look but not having much luck finding 6 bolt 15" for a decent price up here.

Thanks
