Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
Just as the many people that were waiting for the splitter stripe on my truck for the paint job many have been waitin for my to finish out the trim on my tailgate. Well I finally got a wild hair and attempted to tackle that process last night but to nearly no avail. I had four count em FOUR of SIX clips break on me last night while trying to install them in the new upper trim holes. Extremely frustrating to say the least but I did manage to get one side on as well as the middle trim piece over the handle. Ill need to find a way to attach the other side but have no idea if I can find these forsaken clips anywhere. Does anyone have a clue as to where ican find some?

I know some of the venders sell them, start checking catalogs I guess. I'll look when I get home I might have a few used ones, but not sure

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
Try a body & paint supplies store, I know the ones we have here have a rack with an assortment of clips. May not be exact but might have something that works

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
I have no idea if they will have it, but you might try Fastenal, if you have one nearby, or an ACE hardware. ACE seems to have a lot of misc. stuff that I need from time to time.
Honestly though, the only places I know that have those clips are truck parts stores like LMC, Early Classic, Classic Parts and the like. I don't think I've ever seen an auto body & paint supply place carry these clips. A lot of clips are too specific so they don't normally stock that kind of stuff. You might get lucky though.

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
Checked my paint store and they can't get them until Tuesday. And I checked fastenal. Which had them but the could only sell the 25 package one for 30 dollars!! Outrageous that they wouldn't split the pieces up. I hope those clips sit there for the rest of those boneheads lives and never get sold. Gonna check ace and orchard hardware after work. If not I'm calling truck shop in the morning.

Alright my camber issue is terrible on the driver side I'm sure you've seen it in person Shawn at Pleasanton and I new to fix it before I try and do the Anaheim run. So what my dad plans on doing is cutting between the ball joint and bump stop on the LCA's so that will move the ball joint in for me so that I can eliminate the amount of spacers on the UCA's and get these wheels upright and correct. So we shall see where it takes us. Well be plating underneath as well to strengthen them Posted via Mobile Device
