Its been a long road, two tubs and two motors, several moves. I was lookin' back at my oldest pics today. The date on the earliest is April 18th 2001. I started before that, just don't remember when, lol. Here are some pics of the beginning.




I hate to cut holes in my fresh paint but I gotta. These little rubber things go in between the door and tub for wiring to go through. They require a inch and a half hole on one end and a inch and a quarter on the other. Smallest I could find at the pull a part. I figure it'll look better then the speaker wire just hangin' there.

you could just use some mesh or something smaller, thats a big hole for something as small as wire

They make some nice wire looms just for that. Look at the power window makers/suppliers. Has to be something reasonable and smaller!

Started diggin' up parts to be cleaned and painted. I think I've got it all, lol. Went through a box of stuff I had bought in the before time, all kinds of goodies I forgot about. I even bought one of those cup holder things that replaces the ash tray. Looks like the only thing I forgot to buy was the seals that go into the firewall. I've got all the old but not sure I wanna reuse it. Can't wait to mount the new steering column too! Manual tilt.



Not sure what to do with the stips. They don't clean up to good. Thought about hittin' them with some 400 and a coat of gloss black.

I sent mine off for rechrome... they look nice now bt it wasnt cheap. How about powdercoat? ...more durable, and will fill the pits better than paint.

Thought about powder coat. Theres a guy just a few miles down the road. Might stop by there today and see.

Hope I've not left anything to be painted black out. It was a fun day prepping and hangin' all the small parts. Tomorrow I hope to paint the rest of the small stuff yellow.




Heres my rear view mirror. It was donated by Jamie72. I think it'll be neat to have the courtesy lights up there. Just gotta run the wire for it.

BigJ... WHAT is that huge spring on your clutch pedal assy??? I dont see anything like that on mine, but its for a BB equipped truck.

Don't know. Thought it was factory. It seems to pull the pedal arm back into place. Maybe someone will chime in that knows for sure.

I'm pluggin' away at it.

Got some stuff painted yellow today and wasted some paint, lol.
Heres the wasted paint.

Ash tray front.

Wasn't happy with the glove box door and fuel filler door so I painted those again. Got the rest of the small stuff painted too, defrost vents, ac vents windshield wipers assembly and a ton of bolts.






For anyone wondering I use a Satajet RP gun with a 1.3 tip.

They don't make the paint I started with anymore and this is what the old part number crossed over to. Its a new formula still made by Sherwin Williams. Laid out nice, especially since I got the gun setup right, lol. Yeah, that helps, lol.

Cool though, you won't need to use lights in the shop anymore with that glowing yellow in there.

Yeah there is a slight tint difference. I redid the inside when I painted the rest of the tub so thats good to go. The rest will be taken care of when I take it to the booth. Wish I'd of had the dough to go bc/cc. Its way easier to deal with. Especially for a not professional painter like me. Still may clear if I ever decide on a graphic to toss on it. And yes the building is a bit brighter with the yellow. Gotta love it.

Basically pulls the pedal back into position.

Needs to be there as far as I know.

Tom if you need one, I just switched a pedal assembly out and have that spring sitting on the bench.

Black dash pad, no carpet/rubber floor mats over the whole thing(like the ones from lmc), 05 Silverado front seats, late model 3rd row Tahoe rear seats, eventually covers from Cover King or Wet Okole/black with yellow inserts, black upholstered door panels and bed side panels.

Got everything coated in bed liner. It was a long day.... Still a little happy from the fumes, lol. Used a respirator but I believe it leaked.







Stuck the gas door, glove box door, ac vents and couple little other things on too.

Before blurting out what kind I'll explain how good it is. Its real good, lol. I've had it on the lower sides of my Dodge for 4 years now and no problems. So its exposed to more abuse than if I'd of put it in the bed. Its a brand that everyone shakes their head at when you say it.
Bondo Truck Guard.... Its a two part kit and I rolled it on. Plus when it cures out its not as rough as some of the other roll on liners I've seen. Still has texture just not enough to cut your had should you brush up against it, lol.
