Decided the bumpers are going to get new chrome, along with sending the chrome on the vent windows re-done.

I've also been working on getting the tilt bed frame floor back in the truck and the hinges adjusted to make everything operate smoothly again.

These exhaust tips have been fighting me, I've hit them with 2000g wet sand. With the new polish on the way they should turn into a mirror

The bumpers look great! If you don't mind, how much did it cost you to get them rechromed as well as your vent windows? I can't seem to get a quote from our
local places without actually taking the parts to them.

Killer looking tips! I have had great success with Mother aluminum polish. It works wonders on 6061 material. 2000 grit is a great idea too. HERE
I wonder if you could wet sand it with some of the 3M 3000 grit too right before polishing? HERE

Actually have not got them done yet, those bumpers are pretty good but once you actually look at them on the truck just aren't quite right. But should have a quote this week I believe.

And that would for sure be worth a try! thanks for the links!

I can't wait to see the paint! Last night I reread the entire thread again (supposed to be studying for exams lol) and wow! You and your friend's attention to detail and level of dedication to this build is absolutely incredible, make sure to drive the wheels off it when it's done!

Thanks those bumpers do look pretty good. I was going to get some rechromed but they wanted like $500 +shipping for just the front.

Wow I'll get lucky on shipping, the chrome shop is only a couple hour drive. But I've yet to hear prices.

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"

What are some opinions on diamond stitch? I found it in some Lambos and Ferrari's and I'm liking it. I know it's a little old school from back in the day but it has caught my eye.

Yes those don't look to bad!
I've actually decided I'm going back to the buckets I had in it when we test drove it. I talked to the upholstery shop last week and we will have the ball rolling on all of it soon.

Re: Project: "just a little rust repair, turned LS2 swap"

Ok I fought getting these aluminum exhaust tips to polish up the way I wanted them, I tried 6 different "metal" polishes from big name companies with no luck at all. I ordered some 2 step metal polish from Adam's Polishes and the with about 2 minutes of work you can see the dramatic difference. Amazing quality product!

Did someone say diamond stitch? I love it and as for it being "old school", that suits our hobby just fine in my opinion. I mean, what else does it apply to than 40 plus year old vehicles? Here are my diamond stitched Recaro's going into my 72 Chevelle.

Those look amazing! and yes sir I agree 100% with the style. They give the modern seat a vintage look and I love it!
Those will look great in there!
