Thanks for checking in Tiny

We finished off some more of the welding this week. First the passenger side fender top then the drivers side. Then we started positioning the sheetmetal so we can start tacking the top and bottom of the fender together

Thanks DJ. Diesels are cool but I'm more of a gas engine guy so I guess i'll have to keep it.

Pulled the suburban out of storage this week. It needed a new battery and a fuel pump relay. We also test fit the hood and found that we have to tweak the fender alignment a little bit.

Re: My suburban's Twisted Little Sister

We spent the last couple of days welding the fender top to the bottom. So far we have about 2/3 of the driver side done. To break up the monotony we decided to start making the pieces to attach the piece we cut off the front of the hood, to the grille. We got the two center sections tacked in and started working on small pieces that will come next.

We finished welding the top and bottom of the fenders together. Then we removed the hood that we had tacked in place. Next step was to make a panel to attach the front hood section to the rad saddle

Re: My suburban's Twisted Little Sister

We made the small panels that will be beside the lights. Next we cut out a section of the top of the rad saddle where the lights will go.

That's right 63 GMC headlights in the corners of what used to be the hood

We finished the modifications to the top corners of the rad saddle. We made a new top for the corners and welded them on. Also we got a little bit of welding done on the front panels. Still lots to do.

Re: My suburban's Twisted Little Sister

To reenforce the front edge of the fender where the headlights will go we bent this piece. Then we tacked it in place.

This week we did some more welding on the front panels. Also we made some panels for around the headlight buckets. One piece is welded to the fender. The other pieces are welded to the grille surround.

Re: My suburban's Twisted Little Sister

We made some more progress on the headlight buckets. We made a plate for the back. Then we modified the piece the lights mount to. Then we cut two holes in the back plate. Finally we set the pieces in place
