Scrounging around for the extra parts

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’

More pictures

My nephew helps me a lot with the trucks
Went and visited his junkyard , today
He trades me labor for trucks
His collection is building up quite nice
I almost forgot about that flatbed/ motorhome
We drug in
It had a (complete) saddle interior that would have been perfect
For ‘The Gold’
But
We (He) decided not to gut that truck

I don’t have a lot of 69-70 parts
But dug deeper
Only found a chrome one
Guess I’ll use it until a painted one appears

Nope...
But
That leads me to the next question
For The 69-70 plain Jane truck experts

The radio has knobs like the one on the left (aftermarket I think)
The one on the right is off one of my 72 Supers
Did all radio knobs have the deluxe chrome in the center
Or
Did the basic trucks come with solid black ones
That match the ones on the gauge cluster ?
Also
Cigarette lighter ? Always chrome in center ?

Hey Pete,
Joe’s junk snuck one of those board games
Under the seat of a truck he had shipped to me
What a surprise !

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’

Solid black radio knobs? Yes: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=559912

Lighter I think all have stainless trim. Lighter “delete” plug could be used.

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’

Thanks Pete
I guess I’ll be on the lookout for some solid black ones
I have a feeling this was a cigarette lighter delete truck
I’ll have to look at the wiring harness tomorrow

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’

Agreed.

I really enjoy these original truck “refresh” postings.

Even when it’s mostly teaser shots.

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’

Ha ha
Thanks
I love original trucks

Remember, it’s far from a show truck
Gotta sort out it’s trouble spots
But we are getting there

You have two flatbeds? I guess they are set up a bit differently.

Someday he will own all the 67-72 GM Trucks. I like that he actually does stuff with them vs someone like me that hints someday I may do something with my trucks.
