Re: Restoring OEM Seatbelts

Can’t wait to get these back from getting new webbing. I’m doing these for a board member. He sent me his 1972 Black Jimmy set to change to Saddle.
Swapped the buckle covers and drivers retractor cover to Saddle parts, and the rest I’ll have to use the black parts and dye those saddle.
Everything was disassembled for through cleaning and rust removal. Going to use all New Emblems and Male Chrome ends and then the set will be sent for new webbing.
Here’s some before pics, along with his trucks. I have already restored belts for the C10, now I’m doing some for his Jimmy.

More pics after getting all the plastics parts dyed Saddle. Now they just need the new webbing. I’ll update pictures once they are completed!

1977 Blue. 1st Style 3point belts that were cleaned, restored and freshened up with color. These needed some sanding to get the dry crusty crap off.

Re: Restoring OEM Seatbelts

This is a set of 1976 Green that was set to me to be cleaned/restored. Set was throughly cleaned, rust removed and freshened up with the correct color. Replaced a couple of the broken buckles covers, lap buckle cover that was missing and front buckle sleeves. All New GM emblems installed on the buckles.
Check out the Before and After pics.

Re: Restoring OEM Seatbelts

This is a set of 1987 Saddle Tan set of belts that was sent to me for restoration and repair. The passenger side strap was pretty much fulling extended and they would not retract back in. So that was the first order of business was to get it retracting again. Now to keep that from happening again the set was throughly cleaned, rust removed and all the mechanisms lubed. Then all the plastics were cleaned, prepped and freshened with the correct Saddle Tan color. I have to admit I didn’t think these things were worth cleaning, I really felt the webbing needed replaced. But it boils down to what all the dirty stains are and if they can be removed. In this case “Most” of the stains did come out.
Check out the before & after pics.
