Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project
Yeah, the shortbed is over at the shop and he's been super busy so I'm doing what I can on the Longbed back home. My crazy mind is thinking of the blazer project I really want to do now also....gotta get at least one of these finished to sell before I can think of that though.....

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project
Thanks,
Well, any guess as to what I'm about to say? Plans have changed..........again...... Sold the shortbed rolling frame. 4.5/6 Just wasn't low enough for me. To make it more confusing I picked up a 71 blazer 4X4 that I am going to finish up and cruise in this summer. Not exactly low as it has a 2" spring lift and 33's So the truck is on the backburner for now. Not sure if it will end up as a longbed or a shortbed....just depends on what kind of killer deal I find on a project or rolling frame that lays frame Basically going to sell off everything other than the shaved cab, custom tailgate, and the accuair stuff. Going to finish the blazer, enjoy it, and then sell it and use that money to build a sweet shop truck that lays frame or close to it.

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project
Thanks, I'm very happy so far. The blazer is nicer than I even first thought and he had a TON of really nice extra parts with it that I'm selling to recoupe some of the investment.
Me too If I had unlimited funds I know exactly what I'd be doing Just gotta work around that hurdle and figure out the best ways to accomplish my goals and sort out the "wants" and "needs" to come up with something that I'm happy with and that doesn't break the bank. Plus, the more time I spend on this board, the cooler rides I see and the more Ideas I get.....

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project
he probably traded it again
Why dont you get something that already runs and drives while you work on a longer term project? Or is that possible to leave something alone 'aw i'll just do a disc job'. 'Well why not throw some bags on'. Never mind keep it up I love that blazer cant wait to see it done! Why dont you keep it again?

Re: 1970 VA Longbed Project
everything but the cab is sold off this truck. And the cab might be sold....
Well, actually there are still a ton of nice parts for my future build like the accuair stuff, all the motor dress-up stuff, shaved door and tailgate stuff, etc. left over as well. I am going to finish the blazer and see what happens with that. I have been looking for a nice driver for a while now. I'm being picky looking for a great deal since it's a want, not a need at this point. My eventual plans (for now ) are for a bagged truck that will double as a show truck and a useful hauler when needed. Want to do an LSX of some sort.
