Truck is going to be awesome ptc!!! It has great history that video will be amazing. Good luck helping out in Texas I can't imagine what it would be like to be there.

YEah most of our PNW - Pacific North West is all on fire right now between about 7 states there are over 400 fires live.

Houston is doing well, these Texans are great people and the brisket down here is A-#1!!!! Love my BBQ!

Lots of damage, but its all fixable.... and with IRMA coming soon its gonna be another big hit to the east. The US is taking it from all sides right now, we just gotta come together and be strong and helpful to one another!

Got home late last night from TEJAS! --- And have all weekend to try and get this thing started up and running. Got all the electrical checked out today and everything works EXCEPT the RFID PUSH/START button.... !!!!

Everything seems to be wired right, I programmed the RFID loop with the fobs and it accepts them, the unit has power and everything but the start sw doesnt work. I can bypass it and it works thru the start relay and all but just not thru the switch. So I sent an email to CHINA! ---- We'll see what I get back!

If anybody is an engineer of these things I can send you the diagrams ----

Got all the fluids filled up. The oil temp sender is in the drain plug for now, the pan didn't have any other bungs to use.... Really????

Im ready to drive my mailtruck! ---(No doors)

My other problem is brake lights.... Im using a pressure switch inline (like the one below) with the rear brakes. but if I push the pedal it is not turning the lights on. If I have a hydroboost system does it need to be running to get pressure to the switch?

No, Mexican is a nationality. It's only insensitive when it's used as a perjorative or when people use it as generic and assume that EVERYONE who is brown is "mexican" - there are a wealth of countries with Hispanic people. A common language doesnt make them all the same.

Anyway, I try not to be insulting to anyone so I probably shouldnt have made the joke. Especially not for someone just being who they are.

You should still get enough pressure to turn the brake lights on with out the hydro boost running.

Brake lights should work whether or not it's running. Have you tried bypassing the brake light switch?

Going to try that next.... the parking, turn signals and flashers all work so it would seem the wiring is right, just not getting brake signal.

Oh well dont need brake lights anymore cause I just broke off the brake pedal assembly.... can you say MAJOR SETBACK!!!! --- this thing is ready to run! and no brakes!!!

Remember this custom thing I made out of a Wilwood multi-res assembly to go under my floor?





Well I just snapped the end of that long 1/2" bolt off that pushed the ram into the booster. I guess Im just gonna have to take the whole thing out and start over with a different idea.... tear up the firewall again and weld in
some type of STANDARD brake pedal assembly like regular "white-folk" do..... instead of this redneck backyard mechanic stuff!

oh well.... thank God - good thing it happened now instead of out on the street!!!!

I need a vacation --- think I'll go to Florida!



Okay so this is what I essentially made (from scratch)

This is an $80 Porsche clutch lever.....

I used just a 1/2"-13 Bolt black steel and then I had to drill and thread 1/4-20 "pins" on either end for the pedal and the lever. So I removed 50% of the bolt material on both ends
and thats why it failed right at the 1/4" threaded hole on the lever end.

So my question is; - the Porsche lever looks like its just mild steel with a lever welded onto the end - I can't weld the ends on becasue then I can't assemble it under the cab with the trans and everything in the way. It has to be a long rod, slid though the holes and the pedal and then the lever slides onto the end and is sandwiched with locknuts. But the pedal and lever need to be pinned somehow. Drift pins...cannot get a hammer up in there and once in you'll never get them back out. I dont wan it to have any slop either....

Would drill rod material be stronger for threading away 50% of the material? I already tried smaller bolt pins (10.32) and they snapped them right off.

I'm glad the failure didn't happen when you were driving on the street. On something that you absolutely want to stay tight and not rotate, I would consider a shaft with a keyway (think crankshaft and harmonic balancer).

It would be a fairly easy job for a competent machinist.

We're just got back from friends in Curacao. We were there when the flooding in Texas began.
We flew just in time back, we just missed hurricane Irma....

My son and I made some 3 wheeled drift trikes with peddles, had to play around with material for the axle/crank shaft. We kept braking the peddles off. We where limited on diameter but ended up using stainless steel. Can you go any bigger diameter? Then do like Black_Sheep said and use a key.
