Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Just pulled up your page again in a search for vintecs. There such good looking wheels I'm considering going with the same. Great job on everything, nice work with the big block I'll be putting a 402 in mine. One of my favorite builds to follow keep it up and keep the pics coming.

Great progress! ... and a fine fine wheel choice if I do say so myself (jealous)... Love those Billets and the Strikers from Raceline are another of my favorites.

How long did it take from the time you ordered your wheels to the time you received them?

Billet Specialties has a pretty quick turnaround, it took about 3 weeks

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Well guys I know I haven't updated my build thread in a while but my family and I have been going through alot. My parents house was got flooded out by hurricane sandy. There was alot of damage done as the whole first floor of the house needed to be gutted and repaired. Then about a week after the storm my father became really sick and his body started to shut down. Turns out my father had congestive heart failure and needed quadruple bypass surgery along with a valve replacement and another procedure to help correct an arithmetic heart beat. He had a 7 1/2 hour surgery on thanksgiving eve and spent 3 weeks in the hospital. My father is now doing a lot better and making progress everyday.
During the time he was in the hospital we were unable to work on the house because our concern was him not the house. By the time we started working on the house alot of mold had setup and that was a pain to get rid of. It has just been my brother and I working on the house. We are finally to a point where the house iis almost back together. I am very thankful that my father is going to be ok. This truck build means nothing to me without his help. He is chomping at the bit to get back to working on my truck. Hopefully this summer maybe he can get back to helping me work on it.

Tires are Toyo ST II 255/40/20 and 295/40/20. Steering Column is a brushed stainless floor shift flaming river. Plan on running a Lokar floor shift with it.

Thanks Jim, we are glad he's better too. It's funny, all he wanted to do when he was in the hospital is talk about my truck and what we need to do to it. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Good to hear your dad is doing better. I know how you feel, I lost my dad eight years ago and I had a hard time with anything to do with cars for a long time without him.
Cool parts!
