Finished up the plumbing for the supercharger, kit was for a Camaro so I had to get creative:

Testing the circulation system for the supercharger, no leaks!

Installed the overflow reservoir for the radiator:

Installed the Power Steering Reservoir:

Get some hoses made tomorrow and maybe start her again tomorrow night

I must be sleep walking through the forum to have missed this amazing build. What a tribute to your Dad. Love all the changes and upgrades you've made… well written and photographed too. Nice Job!

One of the coolest things to me is that his gun rack is still hanging there. When you're killing it in the shows I hope you hang one of his rifles in the window. After all… it is Texas.

Things have been moving along nicely, still some do overs and oop's but I know preassembling the truck is paying off now.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Thanks Clem, I started this project in Oct of 2011 and hit it like gang busters for a year them took some time off, ok a lot of time off,

There was a list of things that I did not want to change, vent windows, bench seat, chains on the tailgate and the gun rack. All of those things are tied to strong memories of the truck. I loved the fact that we used her like a truck should be used for all those years but now it's time for her to just look sexy at 50+ years old

My goal was when I'm finished someone can come along and get all the information they need to help them with their truck, I hope this thread helps many to come in the future. The biggest buzz killer is the fear of the unknown and I hope this will help remove that fear so others will have the confidence to take on these projects and keep these trucks on the road.

Thanks again!

I read this build word for word over the last few weeks. Great job!!!

I must say the project is sexy as hell and is a great inspiration. I am not sure I will ever be able to afford the detail you put into your truck, but I will sure try. Thank you for this thread!

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Wow thanks Daniel,

I really appreciate the kind words, this truck is very important to me and is a member of the family. I was blessed with a good budget and tried to spend my money wisely. The supercharger was a little over the top (OK A LOT) but I just couldn't resist.

I tried to make this tread exactly like what I was looking for when I got started and I love pictures so I take a lot!

Thanks for joining in!

That seat looks great . Is that a standard seat with bolsters added and a raised centre . If so great idea .

Yes, that is the original seat, you can do a lot with foam these days.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Busy day in the shop, got the ignition hooked up and turned her over for the first time with an actual key.

All the air ride is hooked up and working, got all of the Dakota Gauges Cluster hooked up.

Still need to install seat, head liner, wiring for A/C and all lights, exterior trim on doors and front fenders.

She's ready to be started again, need to do a one over on all the wires to make sure there are no conflicts with belts and headers.

I'm anticipating that it will run rich as I have not done any modifications to the computer since I put the Supercharger on. Injectors are LS9, I hope to take a reading with HP Tuners and post and get some information for LS9 injectors in an LS3.

My plan for now is to do some light tuning so I can drive it to have the exhaust installed. Final tuning will be on a dyno by people who know what they are doing!

Looking awesome! So much attention to detail in this build. Really liking how clean the wiring turned out. If I can get mine half as clean I'll be happy.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Thanks Sig,

I really like this wiring kit, American Autowire 500560, color coding is great and every wire has the function printed right on the wire. There was an issue with the starter solenoid wiring as the instructions weren't as clear as they could have been about the optional neutral safety switch wiring.

I think that's the kit I'm using too. How did you mount it in the cab? Seems like the wires stick out the back too much to mount flush. Almost like there was supposed to be a backside to it or something.

You are correct, there is a back plate that mounts to the upper inner finder bolts. The kit include two new longer bolts:
