Re: Die-cast 67-72

Special K I have the resin short bed fleet side bed as well if you want one just let me know. I'm the process of a short step side bed and the long step side bed molds. The short will be finished first. After the long bed stepside mold I will be doing the Grand Sierra fleetside quarters in resin. My plans are to have almost every version from 1967 -1972 in a full resin kit. Also what section can I list my items for sale where they wont get lost in all the other listings?

Re: Die-cast 67-72

First of all,I`d like to see a picture.Have you done a GMC Fleetside tailgate? You`re smart to do what you are wanting to do.All sizes and shapes are in demand I`m sure.AMT should be keeping the donors coming with all the popularity of these trucks these days.
There`s no good place to list this stuff,IMO.So,I`d run a thread in the 67-72 parts section and keep it alive for awhile, see how it goes. It`s related as far as I`m concerned. The only other place is the misc. for sale, aka:no man`s land.Uh....maybe this is the best place.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

So it would be ok to kinda list in the diecast section a little every now and then? Yeah I have the GMC fleetside tailgate as well as the plain jane CHEVROLET tailgate. The one without the wood grain thats in the current 1972 AMT kit.

My resin GMC tailgates

My resin CHEVROLET tailgate

My resin shortbed fleet side in primer

My resin bed on a corrected resin short bed frame

Resin corrected shortbed frame

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Yeah, 729 posts and we still can't get a diecast section; only a sticky. I think if we got a diecast section, we would get more peoples collections and more for sale.

[QUOTE=ratpackv8sonly;2771480]So it would be ok to kinda list in the diecast section a little every now and then?

Re: Die-cast 67-72

I will post pictures of the step side bed when its finished. I also cast a conversion 1967-68 front clip to modify the 1972 that AMT how out now. Also the 1969-1970 grill and the 1969-72 GMG grill and hood. For the step side I will have both the GMC tailgate and CHEVROLET tailgate. Future plans will be a full 1967-68 cab and a new interior with the seats molded seperate so you can have a bench or buckets.

That would be my vote too.

A one ton with dual wheels would be cool too, make a flatbed or whatever.

It would be cool for the Racers Edge/Open Road Camper Model King repop's

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Great stuff.I`d like to see a plain GMC Wideside gate, too.I know, picky crowd. But,since there`s no Wideside bed with mouldings...
I like that short frame for two or more reasons.1)I wouldn`t have to bash a`72 Fenderside kit,the only shortbed one made and not in about 18 years or so.2)It`s a better frame with component suspension which makes better detail and total height options.
I have bought the "Rides" kit for bashing.Everyone should do the same and get that ugly thing out of circulation. That box is a disgrace and only good for bashing,or at leat toss those wheels and tires.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

I will be doing a long bed frame as well with the suspension cast seperate as well. Alond with an interior that has the seats molded seperate and a bench seat. Some time down the road I will be casting complete cabs.

As for a one ton well.........

Used resin 1988-99 chevy fenders that I also make along with my resin dually rims. I cast ford, chevy, an dodge dually rims.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

I know nothing about what it takes to do this. But,you sure have talent.

The guy that made my 4w`62 Hot Wheels and`75 Matchbox just sent me a 4wd`69.I asked if he could do it.Well, with nothing said I got a box in the mail today.he just went and did it!I`d like to repaint it,but I don`t think it`ll come apart. Not a good picture:

Re: Die-cast 67-72

It came out this year. There`s a purple one out now.I like the stockish look of the green one, although they never painted Stepsides like that.I bought the pair off Ebay that the guy made into 4wds.I never paid him or confirmed I was actually getting a`69 made.It just showed up.Pretty cool guy.I have his address so I`ll mail him some money. If I knew he was actually doing this I would have asked him to leave it unglued so I could strip and repaint a stock color.I don`t know how good I can do it on the frame. Can`t strip it,that`s for sure.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

I don`t recall seeing factory paint like that, but that was awhile ago. Here are some outdoor shots of the flamed-out 4wd.It`s cool because it`s a production Hotwheels in a customized form. But,that paint bugs me because I`d never build a 4wd such a paint job.It could look so much better with a plain ole factory looking job:

Re: Die-cast 67-72

Both of them are JL's. The color didn't come out right, it's the medium olive green but looks gold in the pics. You have to trim a tab inside at the windshield and sometimes they have a small dab of glue at the rear, but the top does come off...
