GM sells a supercharger kit from the ZR1 in a package designed to go onto the LS3 engines. You can put the L92 or LS3 cylinder heads onto your LQ4 and make it work. It would cost less than half what getting a ZR1 crate engine would cost you to go that route. The compression in your LQ4 is low enough that you could run a pretty decent amount of boost with it to make some incredible power. More than an LS3 with it would make due to their higher compression limiting boost. You would be closer to what the ZR1 makes.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
I heard they were 690 hp.... Hmmm
Anyways take a step back to reality for a min. Should i remove my throttle body spacer or keep it? It is a 4 hole 1 inch.

At 16-17psi with 1 7/8" headers and ported snout that blower on a ZR1 makes 627rwhp though putting it around 750 at the engine. I would leave the 4-hole spacer on. All it is doing is adding plenum volume and helping keep the throttle body / fuel cooler so the engine should make more power with it.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Got the efi installed today. Had to first get a 02 sensor bung welded in. Installed new hipsi fuel pump and was able to use my old braded hoses and fittings from carb set up. Mounted regulator and 100 psi gauge in same place as old one. Ran my 5/16 rubber efi hose to the factory return line and plugged everything in and cycled key few times to prime fuel system and bumped key and it jumped to life like it had it on all along. Was amazed. I figured i would have to hold throttle open or something but it just started and idled at 700 like it was told to. I love this thing. It already has learned idle alot better. It is pretty seamless driving. Have not found any spot that it makes it unhappy. I did have to take my spacer off due to the holes in the throttle body being about a 1/4 inch wider on all the barrels. Has just as much low end as it did with it on. I think it has a bit more power now to. Only punched on it one time for about half a sec and it slamed us in seat just as good or better then the carb did. So far i rate this a 10 of 10 in all areas. I was thinking i was going to loose a few hp down low but it seems to have atleast the same. The fuel pump is very quiet also. If the key is on and engine off the pump is also off. I can bearly her it at all. You can see how much my little girl helped me in pic below.

No problem. I hope to see milage inprove to make up for some of the cost. I know it wont make up for everything but would be nice to go more then 6 days on 17 gallons.

Did you keep your other WBO2 sensor? The system looks awesome!

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Thanks! The o2 sensor is almost steady. It only moves from like 14:1 to 13:1. I have efi set on 14:1 unless over %50 throttle then it works its way to 12.8:1. It fades to 12.8 when it goes not just anything over 50 is pure 12.8. Like if you are at 75% It is betwen 14 and 12.8 like a slope effect. Even tho it has lots of learning to do it stays very steady. I figured it would swing around more cause it is still learning but it pretty much makes it stay where it wants it.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
I still get major lean swings at throttle tip in even with the bigger squirters...cruise is near 14:1...power closer to 12:1.

Very cool. Good to see the independent O2 sensor is mirroring what you're asking the FAST system to do. OK, I'm ready for a video!

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Have you tried pump cams? Did you do the 50cc pump yet. Lots of guys on ls1tech have done it with good results. They have a hole carbed ls section. If you can get past some of the rude people there you can get pretty good ideas.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
I wanted to keep my wideband to see the difference. Also i just spent 200 bucks on the thing and did not want it sitting in house. Both the efi and wideband use the exact same 02 sensor also. What exactly do you want video of? I do need an updated one. The video i have posted was only running on 7 due to the rocker issue i had. Has not done it again so i guess it was just install error.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
I bet it will take the 50cc to fix problem. Think it has something to do with the speed of the air and not ment for a carb or something. I read massive article on it at ls1tech. Dont remember where tho. I am sure you will figure it out.

I'd take a video of anything. It'd be cool to see that big burb get up and go.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
No video yet.... Did pick up some new calipers, pads, wheel seals for the front end tho. I have had just about all i can take of buddys yelling at all the other cars when he is stoping. I guess he just wants to make sure they know he is stopping and mostlikaly not going to smash them. If the rain stays away i plan on installing it this week end. Then maybe the front will hold it back for some nice video action....

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
Holy crap....That was rediculas. Takes so much extra work to do breaks with a 4x4. Have to dissasemble the hub, take stupid spindle nuts off, rotor hub assembley off, smack studds threw, line up new rotor with old hub, smack old studds back in, then put all the crap back on. My goodness i hope to never do that again! AND i managed to break locking tab off origanal spindle nut and mess up my threads on spindle a tad. Some how the lock ring deal was not lined up right and would not come off. So i had to turn it to line it up with slot in spindle, then wiggle it out. Then i got the inner nut off and the dang lock pin that goes in to the lock ring was busted. It was still there alittle so i put it back to gether and did not worrie about it tell i did the other side and seen how long the missing part is suppost to be. So i got done, test drove around parking lot and showered then went to what seemed to be every parts store in the tyler area to try and find new inner nut. Finnaly got one at oriallys. Changed back into dirty clothes i used to do breaks and installed new nut after taking locking hub deal back off. I will take it someplace befor i do that again if it sooner then 5 years. But they look good. Stop strait too. Befor had pull to drivers side and squeked an abnormal amount.

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
you need to upgrade to the Wilwood dual piston calipers that fit where your OEM's go.
I'm planning on adding a set in black some ay. my current brakes are awesome....but I can't imagine adding a set of these would make it any worse. ....unless of couse the owont fit your big @$$ axles

Re: 85 burb meets 6.0 lq4
I was going to get the duel piston ones but they out of my price range cause these were 13 buck a pop. Hell they are worth more used then new. 13 new 15 core. They make sloted rotors but also out of range. Maybe one day i will get some. Think the rotors are 100 somthing a pop. When i get a 14 ff rear axle i will do disc break swap.
Os mostly does work but so far away from where i live. Autozone and pepboys are right next to each other so if one does not have the part i walk next door and the usually have it. It does not matter what one i park at i always have to walk next door. Wont get to try out my new breaks tell tuesday cause i have to go take my CDL driving test monday and that will suck up way to much gas. But it stoped amasing befor so with new rotors and better pads and new cals it has to be better and stay in lane. Befor it would pull hard to one way. But always stopped great. Out braked wifes toyota with 4 wheel discs. I guess massive 13 inch rotors and drums helps a bit...

having that booster tank holding reserve vacuum for the power booster and a Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve to dial in the rear brakes...mine sill stop on a dime and leave some change.

Is that just the lighting or are your calipers cad plated? If they are cad plated where did you get them?
