Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I installed my new glovebox liner. And worked on the RH side window, it would not roll down - it was all rusted up. And once it was all WD40'd up, I found out that the window regulator is worn out and now the window won't stay up when I shut the door or when I hit a bump while going down the road. Bummer!!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Went from buckets "back" to bench. The "Boss" wanted to put in the bench seat we got (and have had stashed) since I started the build five years ago.
These buckets will probably be available free ('04 blazer...electric/leather 9.25 out of ten 10) for a Forum Member to pick up. But I first have to ask my pal that gave them to me.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I made a fan shroud, for my Volvo fan upgrade....
Volvo '870', 2-speed fan... $20 worth of steel... Took a trip to my buddy's house, with the plasma cutter... Because cutting holes without plasma just SUCKS.. Perfect... Only took about 10 minutes, 6 of which were spent making the jig. Made a frame... Tacked together... Welded up...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Been married 41 years +.
Over the years, I've had the temptation of trying "new things". But I've always contained the responses to those urges to the inside of the automotive realm. Besides, she bought this seat, suggested we try the seat, and loves the way it looks. Last week, I did a "heavy-hand" and broke the cheap-o center console. I searched for a new one....A hundred for this one, $159 for this one, $350 for another.... This morning, in order to dig out the Christmas decorations, I had to move the bench seat that I plasti-wrapped almost five years ago. One thing lead to another.

Big Drop! 4/6 Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Put an awesome bolt to bolt no fabricating 4/6 drop on my 69 C10 today!! Great deal, great price!
Note: You can put a 4/6 drop springs and spindles on without putting in the "C" notch. But, yes "but", you should watch carefully when carrying anything in the bed of any weight. My 4/6 drop put my frame 1 inch about the rear end "bump stops". Sooo... maybe in time I'll put the "C" notch into frame when I have more time and equipment. But just letting anyone who wants a 4/6 drop know, you can do it without the "C" notch, but keep in mind what I said above. "Any weight" Note 2: My first thought was to cut off half the "bump stop" to make more room... but no no no.... at least with my rear end (93 with 45x295x20's) it would cause a great problem if one of my tires went down to far(ditch/hole) which would cause the up inner part of the other side to tuck in and then I would rub my inner 295 tires against my fender well. So, keep in mind what size tire and offset of the rim when you start debating on cutting on your "bump stops" [[Long note, sorry. Hopefully it'll save someone's wallet somewhere!]] The drop I used was from the website below: http://www.andysautosport.com/chevro...s00000437.html $580 bucks (shipping from California to Arkansas) So amused because I really didn't have to do any fabricating to install the drop. I nearly installed the entire drop SOLO. But a friend came along, so its a great drop kit that mounted perfect to my truck mods! 69 Chevy, with a 93 rear end, and a 71 front A arms/disc brakes. WELL WORTH THE PRICE FOR A GREAT 4/6 ~Tyler |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Well, tonight I became a PREMIUM member! And then bought all the rust repair panels I need for the cab from Top Banana (supporting Vendor).
So now.... I have a pressure pot sand blaster, a powder coat gun and oven along with all the tools and equipment I already had. After "Santa" brings me the parts I'll be ready for de-rusting after CHRIST-mas.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I borrowed my dad's truck and picked up my repaired fender from the shop. I'll try to get pics up later. Anyway, they seem to have done a great job....the new grey primer looks awesome.
I also met a shop worker there who does body work on the side, for $30.00 per hour. Just expanding my options. |
