Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
Hey Mike,
At what point in the build did you figure out you wanted to build something that was SEMA-worthy? You'd never done anything like this before, right? The Blazer is going to be ready for next year?

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
Well i feel that my build was SEMA worthy before i ever had any idea about going to SEMA (i am not trying to say that in a cocky way, i had just spent a long time building it and feel that i built it right) , i only found out about SEMA 7 or so months ago so we were right on the tail end of the build..The SEMA thing did help me get some great parts that i would not have been able to afford on my own, like the CPP big brake kit, the VHX guages from Dakota Digital and all the great parts from Painless Wiring and several other great sponsors ! No this was my first trip to SEMA , deffinately way out of the box for me !! As far as the blazer goes i am still in the planning stages at the moment but yes the idea would be to do a less then a year build and have it at SEMA 2013 ! I have enough sponsors on board already that i would be crazy not to do it , but it will be an insane amount of work to get done in that time frame.....we will see just how crazy i am !!

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
I guess thats fair. I paid $1100 for the trans and installation and everything, except I already had the TCI lock up kit.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
I think it's time to either have a shop sponsor the rebuild or a transmission company to come on board with a new rebuilt one...

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
That sucks about the trans. What are you using for the TV cable set-up since you have the TBI unit?

LOL...that would be AWESOME !!!....although with SEMA already done the sponsorship thing might be tough ! I think SEMA was the big draw for the whole sponsor thing !

LOL, i just wanted to have something somewhat different at least for SEMA, there were probably 6 vehicles with a similar color (several shades off up or down) on them but not the exact same color !

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
As fare as spondors I have three on board with Tootsie. Sema is a huge plus, but it also depends on the shows you plan to attend and the style of your truck. These companies are asked for sponsorship almost everyday. Travis called the companys we wanted to be involved told them we would like to shoot some pics with the info on the truck. We also told the companies what we could do for there product and that we were not looking for a hand out. It also helps if you have previous builds that have been to shows and have been on or in magazines. Hope this helps. As of noe we have Magna charger on board, dakota digital, porter built and a few others I cant mention at this time. I hope this info helps because I asked Mike the samething and he pointed us in the right direction. Thanks Mike

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
Very possible. For the next round invest in a $30 transmission pressure gauge. There are a couple "rules-of-thumb" for the TV cable set-ups that even the trans shops frequently ignore, especially when it's not a stock bracket, geometry, cable, etc. I won't go into detail but there's plenty of reading material out there.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
Mine caused no shortage of high volume violent profanity. If youre loose, Pull your cable shroud back a bit. Mine was waaaay late and BANG on shifts. Cable shroud was too tight. Loosened a bit and voila! Best tip: Mine would not shift at all at first. Fire it up, let it warm up, and then grab the exposed cable by the throttle and rag the hell out of it. Yes, while it's running. Just yank, pull, tug, jiggle, make yourself happy. Lotsa times a tiny piece of mung will stick that slide in the trans, and these things'll do all kinds of weird crap. Mine came to life and I could use it after that. If you rebuilt it, it ain't like it should be rotten.

too bad you dont have stakeholes in the bed anymore , you couldve mounted it on one side and stick the frame in those holes
