I have one I removed from my 60 C10 Step side long bed. It still has the removeable step that hooks into the bumper and the brackets fold back for storage. You can still read the brand on the step. The step was media blasted and 2K primer powder coated gray. The bumper was wire wheeled bare, por15 coated, and top coated with po15 white top coat rattle can to preserve it.

I have not given any thought to what to do with it. I am putting a new chrome rear bumper on the truck as I finish its restoration. Reading this thread maybe someone who has a camper that is flush with the end of the bed could really use it. I've never seen one with the step before.

although this seems to be the norm, it's still irritating none the less and can be messy for the buyer..

Wonder if it has been repainted. Kinda looks like it, maybe a long time ago. Area behind the grille doesn't look quite right and no stone chips to leading edge of hood. Too bad about the replaced trans. But the lock ring wheels rock!

Yes, I believe it has been repainted. Appears they decided the black background behind the grille perimeter ring wasn't really worth it... (I disagree, but still love the truck, that's an easy fix)

Jocko, thanks for posting! I saw this truck in the 90's ( license plate numbers match) and snapped a photo. but it was not for sale. I've said this before, from my observations, back in the 70's and 80's, clean original owner '64-'66 pickups were rarely ever for sale, people just held on to them. These trucks usually stay in the family till the kids or grand kids do something with them or sell off after they fall into disrepair. Note the drastic effect of altering the original wheels and hubcaps have on the the overall look.
