Re: off it goes
You mind sharing the vendor and part number of old and new one? I'd like to check them out. Trying to decide which direction I want to go.

This is an example of what a build would look like if it was commissioned by God, herself!

Re: off it goes
Thanks guys....coil packs are mounted to the floor which will be hidden behind the splash pans, wires are made, we tacked studs to floor boards to hold wire retainers in place. LS motors are cool but damn there is a lot of wires to hide, lol
last pic is of the stainless valance I cut out to replace the cheesy plastic one by the wipers, just have to get the stainless mesh installed and give it a little finesse... |

Re: off it goes
Like every time you post new pictures...Wow!
I'm a little jealous that I'll never own such a truck but... All jokes asides, you keep me motivated to keep going forward with mine. Even though I don't have the skills nor the funds to build a magazine cover truck, I'll still be able to say (pointing to the copy of the magazine with your truck on the cover) that I own and drive the same model

Re: off it goes
that's cool, but won't that be a pain to service should something ever go wrong?

Re: off it goes
Not at all.....two screws undo the kick panel and there is still lots of room between emergency pedal and fuses. The thing is we are trying to keep under the hood super clean so this engine harness had to come in the cab. But with the Vintage Air, fuse box, controller for the Digital Dakota gauges and wiper motor going under the dash, room is something we are a little short on ....

Re: off it goes
Unbelievable craftsmanship going on here.
This is the truck that inspired me to get another square body and I was so surprised lastnight to see it under construction but amazed of the quality of this build. An awesome truck is getting better. Wow!! |

WOW, just when I thought I've seen it all!!! Awesome. Is the plate itself aluminum? How did you attach the two pieces together?

Re: off it goes
Jim...stunning! Just a thought...but that stainless piece would look sweet recessed into the cowl....the thickness of it catches my eye. I have been posting some of your sickness on the 73-87 Facebook page...lol

Re: off it goes
Thanks guys, it would look cool recessed in the cowl and we actually had talked about doing that. But we are going to polish the edge and see what it look like first. As it is now it matches the flange around the air intake on the inner fender....

Re: off it goes
The outer ring is 11 ga. Stainless steel and so is the mesh....we are bonding them together with an adhesive and then once bolted into place they will be fine

Re: off it goes
Dude, some of us are senior citizens, (I'm 57") would you please finish this truck before we die! LOL
Seriously, I very much envy both your work ethic and attention to detail, keep it up!
