Re: How about some pics of bagged 60-66

I love the look of these truck laying frame but I just know in 10 years everyone is going to be complaining about not being able to find these trucks that have not been all hacked to peaces. Just like we complain about cut up dashes and holes cut in the doors for speakers. I am not saying you shouldn't do it. I would if I had the money. I am just pointing out the humor.

My trucks not all hacked body is 100% stock. Was a long bed now it's a short bed. Rear frame is the only part that was cut to add a bridge.

Re: How about some pics of bagged 60-66

Sorry. Hacked was the wrong word to use. I should have said modified and I was mostly referring to c notching the frame, changing the hood hinges, inner front fenders, adding a new front cross member and modifying the inside of the bed and the rear inner fenders. Like I said I love the look of these trucks this way and would do it myself if I could.

I'll be doing the GSI as soon as I find a truck worth buying. They are getting hard to find down in south Alabama/NW Florida.

Re: How about some pics of bagged 60-66

No one paid attention to our trucks 10 years ago, so the survivors are the ones to keep. There is a whole lot of restored ones around. But most were used, abused, cut up and modified at some point. Mine was all stock minus paint and engine rebuild... orange not green and top end.

Freedom of expression. Do what you want. It's the next owners problem if it's not liked.

No sir; and that's not my truck, just pics I took of it at Goodguys Nashville. I see you are in Columbus, MS. My sister & her family live in New Hope. I'm originally from Corinth.

Re: How about some pics of bagged 60-66

I am just referring to the absurdity of laying frame. this is my own personal opinion of it all; so don't get your knickers in a knot guys,( you don't have to defend yourself. if your happy , that is all that counts) but that Pete actually looks a lot better than most 60 - 66 that are that way. everything about the truck flows and looks pretty as it sits there. other than that what is the function of them sitting this way. they are not safe to drive that way.
the aesthetics of the Pete are pleasing as nothing is chopped off in the fender/ wheel relationship; everything is laid out the way that it should actually look. on 60-66 trucks that are down on the ground, that wheel/ fender relationship looks all chopped off with no actual flow between them and the rest of the truck.

If they are bagged, what's not safe about them?
These are pics with the air let out.
To drive them, don't they just raise them back up to a safe height?

if you get a flat tire while travelling down the road, no other part of the vehicle shall make contact with the road. in the early to mid 60's it was dropped frt axles to drop the front. in one of my 38 fords in which I had a dropped axle and if I had a flat it would be the axle that would be sitting on the ground. it was pointed out to me by an officer of the law here that it was iilegal. so I raised the front of the vehicle with a Model A rear spring( it looked gasser style). that satisfied the law that I had raised the car but didn't dawn upon them that if I got a flat the vehicle would still be in the same position, sitting on the pavement.
I have not always been okd . it just sounds that way
