Re: Vintage picture thread
Thought I would share this since on this day in 1977, Elvis, no longer able to handle the pressure of being The King of Rock and Roll, decided to stage his own death and go into hiding.

Re: Vintage picture thread
This is the truck my dad drove when he was in the CCC's in the 30's. I think it was a '34 Chevy.

Re: Vintage picture thread
I think you are right on that being a '34 Chevrolet. I had a '35 Chevy panel years ago. Hood vents were a little different. Very cool pic!

Some of the most interesting photos in this thread have no text what so ever. Even if you know nothing about the picture, please just say so. Thanks. It's either that or I (others, too) may get curious enough to bother you with a PM asking about one or more.

Re: Vintage picture thread
I can't believe it! This is a picture of C. Speck Motors in my home town of Sunnyside, Washington. I loved their show room because it was right on the street and I would wander in as a kid and look over the new Chevys and Buicks. That building is now the offices of the Sunnyside Daily Sun News, and the dealership is out on the east edge of town and you can't just walk by it on the sidewalk any more. I sure miss it.

Re: Vintage picture thread
Well, it's not a truck but it is vintage and GM at least. These go back to '54, my dad and his 1950 Oldsmobile 88. The car is long gone but dad just turned 83.

Re: Vintage picture thread
I checked to see if I had posted before, #607. I found my family took many cool pictures, have scanned and posted on Flickr.
To stay with the Chevy theme, dad's father bought this new, traded for a '72 "Chevy" LUV POS before he died. Grandpa's stuff 89 by Kurt Womack, on Flickr Remember the bumper stickers slapped on the front? Grandpa's stuff 130 by Kurt Womack, on Flickr '57 Chevy mirror in the way. LOL The NPS moved parking and roads far away from these features. Grandpa's stuff 133 by Kurt Womack, on Flickr Whoops, not a Chevy, sorry. North Rim of the Grand Canyon, USFS Powerwagon that was operated by a friend. Dads slides 41 by Kurt Womack, on Flickr Oh snap, not a Chevy, sorry. Dads slides 57 by Kurt Womack, on Flickr Rats, another brand, he sure loved this car, ton of pictures. Dad's slides 67 by Kurt Womack, on Flickr Oh good, there's a Chevy, whew! San Diego, that's all I know. Dad's slides 91 by Kurt Womack, on Flickr Oops, sorry, just a Ford. Dad's slides 119 by Kurt Womack, on Flickr Hope I can redeem myself, must be at least one Chevy in this picture. North Rim Lodge at Grand Canyon. Dad's slides 93 by Kurt Womack, on Flickr I'll play it safe, no vehicles. This is the bridge over the Little Colorado River at Cameron. Grandpa's stuff 54 by Kurt Womack, on Flickr Hope you enjoyed these. I have many of each vehicle, could milk this topic out for awhile.
