Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
This big truck had a bypass cooler, I reckon. This setup has obviously defeated its purpose.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
"just watched it close at $6433.33 with 8 bidders 21 bids " is dirt cheap. You would pay more than that for a simple '65 chevy pickup. A '65 Chevy NAPCO pickup would go for at least $15,000. I sure as hell wouldn't sell my '65 NAPCO truck without a much higher reserve.
He said that he had the original dual quad manifold and carbs from the 409. That would mean that it came off a 425 hp 409. The engine is worth a LOT of money to someone who wanted to restore a 409 El Camino. |

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
Restore a 409 el camino? no el camino ever came with a 409, the 59-60 els could get the 348, but 61-65 impalas were the only car bodies that could option the 409.

Right hand drive. Unless the photos were taken with a reverso camera.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
I think the pictures are reversed. Look at the license plate and the grill. Everything is backwards.

I always wonder that myself....I guess "a fool and his money are soon parted" and "there is a sucker born every minute."
I know someone who fell for something like this once...but was for $125k in city government money...fortunately for him and the city the wire transfer had a mistake and it never processed! |

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
The grill says telorvehc so, yep it's backwards.
Also I did not notice it a first but it's not a 62 unless the grill has been changed.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
After looking closer at the pic's I can see that it has different colored right side fender and piece above the grill. So most likely its a 62 with partial of a 61 front clip.
The link in the original post is not working so not sure of the sellers description. I'm not able to find the ad on CL so maybe the original poster can re post the link? Anyway it's a cool truck.

Gmc - $1500 Not a bad price if it's not a rust bucket inside the cab.
If I had the money I would go check it out. https://salem.craigslist.org/cto/d/d...007884191.html
