Now I'm asking questions....
Two more:

First:

What do you guys use/make when you're running electrical wires from inside the doors to the A-pillar?
Ofcourse I saw what Ogre did with Truk, but I was looking for something a bit easier to make.
Only have to wire the doorlocks.
Any ideas with pics would be higly appreciated!

Second, for our Fleetsiders:

Can someone give me a straight on pic of the bed emblem "Fleetside"?
Rightside and leftside are the same, I thought?
And the measurements of the emblems, length and hight.

As I can't buy them here, I will paint them in high gloss black paint on the semi gloss bedsides, until I can get a hold of a set.
Painted black is hard to see, I know, I pinstriped these colors before and it should look great

I know these.
I have a 5-wire doorlock, maybe those from Mercedes will fit, but I'm not happy with all the failures they had (I used to work at a MB dealership).

Kees heres an easy idea for wiring thru firewalls, doors, panels etc that is used in race car type stuff all the time. Its mostly use to just keep the wires from chafing against any of the metal but the tubing can be used as a complete conduit.

First; DRILL HOLE the size you need for how many wires are running thru hole and fits the grommet size you'll be using.

#2; install a grommet for that size hole



#3; Find size and color and cut poly tubing to length from point A to point B



#4 run wires and install thru grommets and then put an "o-ring" on the back side of the panel where poly tube runs thru to keep it from coming out.

All this stuff should be available to you in NETHERWORLD....

This you have to explain PTC, you mean a normal rubber o-ring?
One that's tight ofcourse, but at both ends?
So inside the door and inside the A-pillar?
It then can slide a bit until the o-rings, that's the purpose of it?
If I understand this right, it's a really simple sollution!

And yeah, we got this overhere, worked for years with that stuff in trucks

I was thinking somebody has done that already from a particular car, so why invent the wheel myself

that's what it sounds like to me too. I like the simplicity of it also.

Yes, it must be. I have the tubes and other things already here, so I'm going to try this. It's so simple it has to work!

Last week I was trying to get the "Idiot light" to work, I use LEDs for that...
So honey, I blew up the LEDs
Came to the conclusion I first had the LED the wrong way 'round and then it was done with it. A bit of thinking wouldn't help.
Thank God for G**gle

Two minutes and I found my problem...You have to have a resistor parallel and a diode the right way in
Solder everything together, try it...and....it works!!!

After soldering and testing, do the same with the dashlight:

I've had it with the flu, so much!!
Two weeks couch hanging, little on the computer, doin' nothing...

So tomorrow I go and try to do something on the truck.
Hoping to get the doors in and try make PTC's sollution to work.

By the way PTC, I personally know the guy who owned your avatar truck
That is, if I see it right...I'm getting older also you know

What I have done the last couple of weeks is polish the parklight bezels and bolt them onto the grill:



It even has parklights



Don't know if you can see it, but it works!

I also put in the division bar felt in the ventwindow channel. Not the nicest thing to do, but it's in



Those white things at the edges are the adhesive strips, those are gone now

Driver side door has better gaps than the passenger side, but I can live with that. It's no show truck, it's a driver

Coming along..... yeah i found that avatar pic online and just liked it as a "before" look for my build. Thats the color my truck was Im told before the rusty look started in on it...

Im sure it will be changing soon...

This one has never seen a paintgun
All is done with a roller, remember, I like 'm rough

It's a driver (and I can't afford a $ 6000 paintjob...), if the blue paint wasn't so ugly I probably wouldn't have painted it afterall.

Today I took the time to finally make the driveshaft loop:







The loop is bolted down with four M10 bolts (3/8"). Only clean it up and put some paint on it.

I also cleaned the right side of the Fleetside bed, the part under the bedwood.
I must say, it's really clean, a bit rough but no rust at all
After cleaning and inspection, I primered it with rust encapsulator/primer.
This gets the same threathment as the cab: rust encapsulator - primer - paintable rubber undercoating and then 3 layers of shiny black paint

You are correct, I have about one inch all around.
But keep in mind I have a Jag IRS in the back, solid mounted diff, so the only movement of the driveshaft is from the engine/transmounts.

Today I got to the other bedside. There was a hole, made by the PO, that I had to close first.









After welding and priming:



Next I cleaned all the cross sills of the bed.
That was a few hours to get all the 57 year old mess off



Tomorrow it's time for the first layer of primer.....

The hole was 2", I think for gas filler, altough it was a bit low...
Who's using CB antennas nowadays? Must be from the 70's or 80's?
