Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Now when I say "Trucks are beautiful" I'm not just talking about shiny dolled up rigs. I'm talking Trucks. They are beautiful, no matter how ragged, beat, or worn out.

Just look at the added style this A100 cab gained being a heavy truck

I knew it was a big time show winner but didn't know it was George Barris that painted it...or forgot in 40 or more years. Thanks for more pictures

That appears to be loaded by hand. No squeeze load there or 2k pound bales. Not something you see much anymore. Sweet Pete too!

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

I don't have the picture on my computer, but I think it's the one used for the album in the centerfold. It shows looking at it from the front and down the driver side (could be my picture is cropped) showing the loaded trailer behind. Quite a beautiful sight. I'm just realizing this truck would have been my introduction to cool west coast big rigs and especially to trucks/trailer combos and those being hay haulers. I never went to California till '76 and I had this album before that. If there were any big rig magazines back then I never saw one. Overdrive existed back that far, I think

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Thanks for the cool pics KQQl IT. My Dad used to "boom" load hay trucks in the late 60's. He and my mom were living in Woodland CA but he would travel all over the area to load for Toby's Trucking. He said he would work at night during the summer months because of the heat.
