Re: 1949 Chevy 3600 into a daily driver
How about a Continuous Duty soloniod, about a 300 amp should work to turn off the battery power

You can find them pretty cheap on Amazon and Ebay.

Re: 1949 Chevy 3600 into a daily driver
Those brush guards are hard to come by and can be pretty pricey. I got lucky to find one a few years back. Think twice before you modify it because they don't make them in the aftermarket.

Re: 1949 Chevy 3600 into a daily driver
Sweet Sweet Sweet truck!! Just read your hole story that was a fun build. I love the way you kept it driving for the most part while you modified.

buy a new house with a flatter driveway! raising that truck up would be a crime.

Re: 1949 Chevy 3600 into a daily driver
Very nice build! My 51 has the same patina color as yours (but it's unfortunately had some bondo repair before I owned it) and you've given me ideas and motivation to get mine going. Thanks and looking forward to your IFS install! Subscribing to all threads

When you spaced the steering box out did you do any thing with the mount on the dash?

No, used the stock mounting location. I did not notice any difference in the cab.
