Re: 61K10 build
Lookin good Kimble as always, I've just been driving mine more and more I attended a flea market last Sat and Sun and got to keep my truck in there behind me I must have had 20-30 people ask if it was for sale, I said shoot no, had some people say they used to have one and sold them and wished they had them back....The truck drew more attention than the stuff I was trying to sell...I kinda want to experiment before it gets too cold..I think I'm gonna go with a patina look for now...

Re: 61K10 build
Kimble,
Very nice, I am starting back on 64 K10, been cleaning bolts and other small parts. Will be posting soon too. We just sold our home this week, and that will free up, a lot of time. Had been keeping up two homes. Now just a little unpacking, smile. Need to run a 240 volt line to the garage, for air compressor and welder. Still waiting for painter to be ready for body. Got a bad bug today - looking at another 60-66 truck, SB, fleet. Les |

Re: 61K10 build
Looks great Kimble!
Well, summer has passed and no work on the truck in over a year. I too have moved. Les, there is no such thing as a little unpacking! Good thing is I now have a good place to work on the truck. Been gathering parts too, hope to get more than daydreaming-about-it time with it soon. Mike |

Re: 61K10 build
Like the "headache" rack, and fully understand the toolbox. Did you find one the correct width, or are you fabing up mounts for a standard tool box?

Re: 61K10 build
DoD--the tool box is a little short but still sits on the bed sides.
Mr.P--the tape was free lol. Don't know what i am going to put under the side mounts yet. Maybe some rubber under coat? We will see.

Re: 61K10 build
Nice job on the rack. The dealers needed to sell those back in the 60s. If they did we all wouldn't have to straighten the back of all our cabs from everything hitting it.

Re: 61K10 build
I have 2 sets. the skinny ones are 215/85/16's, rims are 16/6 trailer rims. the other set are 10.50/15 on 18/8 rims (that don't fit over the disc brakes) need to find some regular 15/8 rims, as mine are aftermarket reversed rims.

Re: 61K10 build
Kimble,
Very nice on the rack, looks very useful. As others have said, wish the 64' had one when it was new. Understand all the cab dents too. We are getting ready for the winter storm coming through tomorrow. Still working hard on getting organized. Have more stuff to go through from the move, making progress. Have all the 220V wiring done. Also, striped out some 65' parts, including front clip and doors. Also, have some thin, very durable rubber like material, if you need some strips for the bed rails to protect the paint. Alternative is 1/4" thick rubber, kind of like tire tread if you want that. Re: 61K10 build
Glad you're getting settled in your new place. It takes time for sure. We had 6" of snow here the other day, and then it rained and was gone. Some big rain coming today through next week. I had some type of weather stripping that i put under the rack pieces the tool box sits on. Kinda rubbery stuff. Thanks for the offer, will see how this works out. I also have some 1/8" rubber matt i could use.

Re: 61K10 build
Chris---there never finished as you know. Been watching your tk rebuild also. Gonna be sweet with that eng and trans combo. I wanted to keep mine mostly stock just for the value, being not many were made. I didn't like the way it stopped with the org brakes, so disc were added, power booster---still rides like a covered wagon lol, but stops. Transfer case is noisy, trans shifts slow. Maybe i should of went more your way lol. Ls/5sp/205 set-up.
