Might as well swap them next time they have to pull the engine to change the distributor cap. (Pretty much required) I'm thinking an LT5 would be the perfect addition. Exotic power for an exotic. Don't get me wrong I love stock automobiles but some engineering can not be tolerated if you want something more than a museum piece.

Working on the front of the motor is actually quite easy. Slide ths seats out and remove the access panel. I worked on a lot of Panteras.

I have only worked one. My buddy had a 71 Pantera he got from Mexico about 1989. It ran so poorly he barely made to Portland when he got it. I helped him yank the engine to rebuild the distributor and since the engine was out new water pump was installed. He either didn't know about the panels or they weren't usable. Either way it was a pain.

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’

That's even more impressive since this one went for 88,000. There was a lot more investment in the turboed race truck.

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’

Wow, THAT is nice. I have to admit, after watching mecum a week or two ago, and BJ thus far - truck prices seem to have increased exponentially in the last 6 months. They've been on the rise for a long time, but very recently, there's something in the water.

And while I'm at it... I thought L88 Vettes were rare!? I could swear I've seen more original, actual L88s and ZL1s cross the block in the last few years than were ever produced.. Ha. Well, it sure is fun to watch. Nice stuff out there.

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’

yep, blue, olive, and parchment were the only three colors available in "custom cloth" (houndstooth) for the bench seats in supers. I'm very curious about the black k10 - that SPID looks very original, but black custom cloth (houndstooth) was never made by the factory - it's big in the aftermarket, lots of folks have em, so am not sure what it could be. Was trying to find the 634 code, but no luck. I've seen some supers that had the Cheyenne vinyl ordered as a special order, but black custom cloth wasn't a thing. Custom Deluxe level black would have omitted the "custom" lingo, and just been black cloth or something like that, code 601. Just seems like a coinkidink that the SPID lists something that was never made until the aftermarket started doing it a few years back - and that is also exactly what is in his truck.

Here’s my take on it.
Yes, all black and white houndstooth had white, for the vinyl (factory stock)
Many black trucks came with parchment, which meant door panels and headliner were white.
But ? Maybe when it said black cloth, that meant the interior (door panels and headliner were black)

Edit
Super Spids sometimes, mention (cloth) trim, but many just mention the color of the trim, with no mention of cloth

That SPID looks like a reproduction that was “aged”, the font doesn’t look right. The only way you got black interior in a Super was if you ordered bucket seats.
