Re: Owen's C10

I picked up some parts on the weekend...new front and rear bumpers, and the polished bed strips, now I can get going on the bed floor. I'll have to rip the planks down on the table saw to fit the hatch opening/floor. Still waiting on some other parts like the one piece power side windows and a Ididit column.

Re: Owen's C10

update: got the oak bed wood all ripped to width and the edges cut to fit the stainless strips, I ripped the edges a 1/4" deep so the strips will almost be flush with the top of the boards. I then cut everything to the length of the strips. The four boards in the center are where the opening is, my plan is to hide the opening under the strips...I'll have to add some more braces/tabs in frame work to bolt the strips down. I ordered some quick latches to open/close it, and I still have to mount the gas struts.. then I'll sand it down and re-stain, clear and polish it all.

Re: Owen's C10

That is the exact finish I want to have on my bed wood, I think it looks fantastic. Would you be willing to share the products/steps you used?
