Re: What did you do to your truck today!

67 six bolt rear with 3.73's removed & a 71 five bolt rear in with 3.07's in! Took all day as the u-bolts had become one with the rear control arms. Drums, backing plates & diff cover powder coated semigloss black, the rest painted. New stainless rear brakelines w/ gravelguard toped it all off to look sweet. Wow does the rest of my truck look crappy now...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I've been sanding down the firewall and frame. Today I painted them both semi-gloss black. I also sanded all of the rust off of my fenders and painted them as well.

Windshield and rear slider came out. Mocked up the headers. A bunch of pictures here:

Only one small cut on my palm! And not from the utility knife. From a cab pointy part.

Changed the water pump, and flushed the cooling system again.
Then took her for a 100 mile cruise in the back roads, after that came into town and stopped in at In-n-Out burger to make a nice end to a productive day.

Today I test fit my Mar-K wood bed kit. Now I gotta take it all apart for stain and clear. Hope to have it reinstalled and complete by next weekend.

put the hood back on, after two+ hours still wasn't right but did close and latch so there is where it will stay until I buy some more patience.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Washed the under carriage from all the oil mess from a leak I thought I fixed in the T221, only to find that another one has appeared where the TC mates to the transmission!

These leaks have not been your typical one spot drip on the driveway either, rather they piss all over the under side of my burb and leaves a film all over the back of the truck.

Anyone know of a trustworthy and competent shop that can R&R my TC to replace this gasket in SoCal?!?! I'm researching right now to see how difficult it may be for me to do it myself, but I am also figuring in the hassle factor for me and so far the idea of paying someone to do it is winning.

After all that clean up, I washed, waxed, vacuumed, and cleaned all the glass.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Went to a machine shop to inquire about having my L6 head cleaned up. When I got back to the truck it wouldn't start..... The mechanic came out and gave me a jump. Then replaced the alternator. What a better place to need a jump than mechanic shop.
