Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
ok here comes a ton of updates !
Lets start with more progress on the shaved drip rail, front and rear almost completely done . I am still working on the sides I am giving them just a little lip that hangs over the edge of the door so they will have just a little something to detour the rain from the door gaps. Finally finished up the welding on the firewall panels |

Then I did a quick "zip tie" test fit on the custom Flex-a-lite radiator this baby is HUGE and TOP NOTCH !
Mocked up the CPP rack in the Porterbuilt suspension Started hanging the Flowmaster 40 series mufflers with our custom built mounts. The exhaust will be 3 inch stainless tubing from Flowmaster |

All Altman Easy Latch kits work with the exterior locks. On the this particular kit of course, the lock is in the button, so it really has nothing to do with the latch. Mike, I should have asked you if you would be running power locks. Let me know, and I will get you some locks sent over if you need them.

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
firewalfirewall looks great think thats one of the things i will buy when i start on my own truck : a beadroller
there so many thing you just can make look better with one of those prolly buy a few of those hole punch/flangers too i like the hangingsytem for the exhaust too but i wonder if the rubber insulators are big enough and if they hold up when they get hot might do sumtin simulair but mount the whole exhaust allmost solid (with room to expand) and use flex couplings right after the headers , those should stop any vibrations comming from the engine transfering to the chassis

The isolators are exhaust hanger grommets so hopefully they will take the heat

Finally test fitted the rear Budnik Pivot wheels.....man I am in LOVE with this wheel ! 22x10.5 with 6 inch back space. It looks like we are going to narrow the rearend about 2 inches on each side. They are wrapped in Pirelli Pzero Nero's 315-25-22's

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
wow, whats not to love about those wheels. even though they're a modern size they got an old school feel about them. good choice, well worth narrowing the rear.
good work on filling the seams too... |

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
Any thoughts on using a tig with silicon bronze for the gaps? I want to do something similar with my 66 (whenever I get to it) but the thought of that many tacks is making me think that the gaps aren't that bad hahah

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
i've heared about someone else that tacked normal gas weldingrod to the end of the doors with a migwelder and then shave them to size the gap could use realy thin roundbar too same thickness as the folded part of the doorskin
seems to me its a bit eazier for someone not too experianced with gaswelding using bronze

love the wheels, are you narrowing it because the wheels won't fit when the bed is on?

Wheels can do with a thread of their own.
These really are very special. I love them.
