Obviously anything is possible, that's not what my original reply was about, I believe you misinterpreted my response with "on a gas engine"
as a reply saying a turbo cannot go on a gas engine, per your reply
"Uhm, YES? ". As a previous owner of one of the low RPM V6 engines,
I know they would be very unhappy with a turbo and short lived.

So, you meant to say "As a previous owner of one of the low RPM V6 engines, I know they would be very unhappy with a turbo and short lived." Not "On a gas engine"? I could see how I may have misinterpreted that. My apologies. I meant to put a "HAHA" on the end of my response "The Turbo". I will have to be more careful.

Yeah. I had talked with a "friend" who does all kinds of frame modifications and he agreed to shorten the frame and put a pickup box on it before I bought the truck. The guy kept putting me off so I started fixing everything that was wrong with it. I can't do the fabrication, myself, and I couldn't get a straight answer from the guy, so I took it to a shop to get an estimate for the work. Way out of my price range.
I can't keep it as it sits and I can't afford to do it like I want so I am selling it. The price is my break even point. I know I'm not going to get that, but it's a starting point.
I'm so upset about it that I just want it gone!

Great truck for someone out there. I would keep it just as it is. I would take your truck over a new one without any hesitation.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

So homely it's beautiful 1942 Autocar $500. Not mine. It is certainly neglected but it doesn't appear to have been abused.

https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/...167724801.html

This is a 1942 Auto Car Boom Truck with a hydrolic boom / lift. As far as wee know nothing is operational. Last time I posted this I got an overwhelming response as I had posted it in the free Section. After promising it to someone they flaked and our time. Now I'm listing it for $500 OBO. Please come take it away, if you really have the time and means to do something with this then $500 seems to be a fair price to pay for our time... then you can take the truck for free. Please call and leave a voice message with your info and I will get back to you, I will no longer respond to text message.
