I was intrigued so i looked the hinges up... I may do this as well....I don't like my hood fitment...these are a few hundred less expensive than the other billet fancy stuff I was looking at

Had a senior moment, that is where I got my serpentine system from. Yes they look really good and if it is like there serpentine system they will be really built well.

I'll post an update once I have them installed and let you know. The initial thoughts out of the box are they are well built. The kit comes two bolts short to mount them to the fenders. I called to verify I didn't just get two less than I should have. They seemed a little confused why I needed 5 bolts per hinge. Easy trip to the hardware store.

I have several alignment issues with my fenders, hood, etc that I want to address when the hood is off. Hopefully, in the next week or so I can get some help to pull the hood.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a new 22' chariot for my mistress. Pick it up Saturday. My wife already figured out that if I put the truck in the trailer then the garage is freed up for another project. She has me figured out.

I'm probably going to wish I had one, but I can't see buying a 65,000 dollar truck no more than I will pull this thing. The Tundra pulls well, it just likes gas when it does it.

I have a question about your water pump, it looks similar to one I have, I have a sd7 from Holley with the 2 heater hoses on the side and it looks like your front line goes to the upper line on the VA
How did you find out which one it connects 2 ?
I do not want to cut my hoses and find out I hooked it up backwards.

The smaller one on the water pump is the outlet to the evaporator. The larger (3/4) on the water pump is the inlet. You can't go by my firewall set up because of how I ran the hoses under the dash may not jive with the order they are in. Look at your paperwork on your VA and it will tell you which is the inlet side of the heater core. I believe it is the bottom one going from memory.

Thanks, That was the info I needed, telling me the 5/8 and 3/4 fitting direction told me which ones and so yes the way you have it hooked up is going to be the same for me.

I still have a non working horn, a power drain somewhere and no brake lights. I love wiring...

For your power drain, remove the positive cable from the battery and connect a test light between the battery post and the able. The light should be on. Remove fuses, one at a time, until the light goes out. This will let you focus on one circuit instead of the whole truck. Good luck.

Would this work to find a short in the system as well or is it just a power draw locator?

This is the plan, but I thought it was the negative side of the battery that you did this on? I was up under the dash yesterday finishing up the vent hose routing and noticed the horn relay was hot. I pulled it out until I can get back to it, but I'm betting that is the first place I should look for the issue since the horn isn't working.

I'm very excited about the new trailer. I've always wanted an enclosed trailer and the wife is happy that it fits in the driveway better than she thought. The old Tundra pulls it at 70-75 mph at around 2,600 rpm. It poured rain and we had a 15 mph cross wind all the way home. When you hit a hill it jumps to 3,200 rpm and is loud inside the cab...real loud. We will see how she does loaded.

Friday I snuck out of work a little early to install a sway bar on the rear end of the Tundra. That only took about 20 minutes so I decided to get the mistress out of the garage and go around the block a couple times. Having the bed on made it feel much more solid. I can't wait to get it dialed in and have some warm weather.

Super Bowl was a bummer from my end, but that is how it goes sometimes.

Super bowl was a let down for sure, but all you gotta do is walk into your garage and immediately feel better. Your stance is perfect! You should be so proud of your hard work. Smiles and miles ahead of you for sure.

20 minute sway bar install??? I don't know anything about Tundra's but that is impressive.

I have been fiddling with the horn for several weeks and each time I end up getting frustrated and moving on to something else. It was wired correctly, with all new wires, the horns test out ok, but I just couldn't get the button to work.

I enlisted some help (TAC10 and Beaterku) on what they thought and between the two of them I was able to isolate it down to something in the column. So, I pulled the wheel off and began digging the turn signal switch out to see if I had a bad wire. After getting the switch out I found the white wire (brake) had a spot on it, but that didn't solve the horn issue. I finally decided that the new switch was either bad or had been messed up on install and needed to be replaced. So, I decided to put it semi back in place until I could get a new one. As I was pulling the wires back snug from under the column the horn went off (insert mild heart attack). Hmmmm, long story short I discovered this little tab on the back of the horn ground extended past the plastic and was coming into contact with the column shaft. I corrected the tab and adjusted the switch to sit a little further to the side there and boom....we have a horn!!! Now to figure out why the steering wheel won't sit closer to the column.

We should now be able to get a license inspection.

Glad you got it figured out! You guys have different laws there - I didn't have to do anything with the County/State other than renew the plates and get on the road.

I have not enjoyed working on steering wheels and horns in these trucks. I haven't worked on anything newer than 67-72, but I would hope the design is better on newer vehicles.
